I am using a medicine ball similar to the ones shown in the video. I started on the abx medication with the medicine ball on Friday and it runs for 24 hours. The past two days/nights the medication has not delivered through my portocath. My nurse came today to check & change the needle, which we discovered was bent during the last placement. That needle was too large for the portocath and must have bent when it hit the back wall of the port. It's very frustrating for the patient who is very ill with respiratory bacterial infections to have to deal with medical equipment not working properly!!
Some huber needles are made with a 90 degree bend and a slight bend at the end to them.
Absurd and useless explanation.
