Korean Cooking Class Foreign Language Listening Strategy Example
Korean with Thai subtitles to practice foreign language listening strategies.
Try to find out what is going on just through observation of hints in the language and in the video clip.
Min Jiyeon, assistant manager of the Korea Agro-Trade Center in Bangkok is saying something along the following lines: "This is our second year we offer Korean cooking classes in our center. We had three groups of Thai university students this year who took Korean as a major. We invited them to learn about the Korean culture with our program. I hope that with such activities we can contribute to the popularity of the Korean cuisine in the world."

I liked how the uploader must have had the DVD Spanish captioning on as I'm learning it on Duolingo, refreshing and adding to my taking it in high school years ago plus the closed captioning default is in German - my late Mom would have loved that since she had a year of German in high school. I thought it clever that the producers incorporated the candidates' names in the ticker tape running below stills of all of their faces. I wonder about Sam; didn't he or they ever hear of concealer? At 2:58 when he's walking past an NJ Transit train - most likely at Penn Station in Manhattan since that's the final stop and especially at 3:55 when you see his closeup plus watching the show, his eyes look like a raccoon since it appears with his dark shadows under his eyes he has an excess of eyeliner on. Seeing that you'd think he never slept with the exception of the time he dozed off on the floor during the second episode.
What folks don’t understand is that all of us in NYC hate DT and we always have.

@@sushi.r6190 So many reasons. Do some research & digging around. He is hated here and he has a long history of screwing us over. This is long before the country started paying attention to him. When “The Apprentice” became a TV show, he became a household name & the show made him out to be a competent businessman. What most people don’t realize is that the loser filed for bankruptcy 6 times and Daddy always bailed him out. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth & never earned a cent of his money. That stupid show was one of the reasons why he was elected. He has always been a cheater, a liar, a spoiled brat and one of the most self-possessed, sleezy humans of all time.

His name is spelled Kwame - he made it to the finale by smarts, staying in the background mostly in the beginning with the exception of the Planet Hollywood task and some luck but at the end he was mainly sabataged (probably mainly out of spite) by the big O.
