Some of these pictures are not Vermont. The farm photo center at 4:13 is probably the Dolomites in Italy. The hiker at 8:33 is not in Vermont either. Another thing to consider is that there are a lot of hard working Vermonters that can't afford these prices but realtors continue to be a driving factor in price increases. Plus they are marketing to out of state buyers with more $$$. IMO, If you can only afford a 5% down then you should keep saving before buying a house. Easy money loans is also part of the problem. Lifestyle is real life, not something you buy. Just my 2 cents,... or so.

The south end of Burlington is a suburb of Burlington and then South Burlington is its own separate town. The south end of Burlington and South Burlington are serviced by bus, and are both bike friendly. Both Burlington and South Burlington have their own separate paved bike paths! Feel free to send me any more of your questions!

Is the South End the same as South Burlington? If so how walkable or bikeable is it, what affordable transit options are there besides the bus?

It's a second Rutland Vermont. Lost of homeless people walking around or tangent people. Some of them talking to themselves. I was uncomfortable.

I just can’t get over how expensive New England is. We’re coming from Alaska next year and it’s just crazy to think all of those states are more expensive in many ways than the middle of Alaska.

How disappointing. No mention of the quaint old world charm of the streets along North Avenue and The North End. I spent many summers of my youth, walking or biking from Pitkin Street to Burlington High, or walking downtown to Church Street. Colechester Point and Mr. Oure's Boat House were also walkable destinations with nice quiet neighborhoods as well.

My best friend Virginia Rawles Chittenden we went to this town when traveling north, spent the night at a famous place ? Forget name, was 1971? Loved the area!

28 years in Essex. Horrible roads. Traffic is like a major city. Go through 5 corners when a train goes through your stopped for a half hour. Crime is rising. The fairgrounds are rundown 550.000 for a starter home that needs 50,000 to 75,000 in repairs. Extremely high taxes. Bring all your money. Vermont will take it all in the end.

I grew up in this state only 20 minutes from Winooski, at one point there was talk to put a dome over that area... never understood why they didn't. No, Winooski and Burlington are the librial drug and homeless havens they alwasy dreamed of. Well done, I wouldn't even let them drag my dead body through these towns.

No i,t’s the drug capital of Vermont, I know I live here too. People are rude they will rob you. Every drug addict knows where to go to get their drugs, trust me. I’m sorry lady that I disagree with you. I have lived here for 25 years. When I first got I could not believe how many people didn’t work. I moved from Boston where every person I ever met or knew worked. When i met people everyone of them didn’t have a job I was shocked. I’m disabled and I worked my whole life, I even got a job when I moved up here. I’m sorry to run Winooski down but it’s the truth. The people are not nice at all. If you were to get hit by a car the people would walk right over you. I was at a gas station in the middle of winter, it was 19 degrees out I was taking my stepdaughter home and my battery died, all I needed was a jump . I ask everyone I saw and not one person would help me. Now mind you I’m standing there with my arm crutches and a five yr. Old freezing our asses off and not one person help us . Finally someone I knew personally came in the gas station and helped us. He wasn’t surprised that I didn’t get help. I can go on . This time I’m in Belvedere Vt. 3,300 ft above sea level in the cold hollow mountains. My car broke down, I’m on the side of the road with my crutches ( I had a spinal cord injury) anyway, I stood there waving down anyone that went by for help. I’m in the middle of nowhere a car would go by maybe every 1/2 hr. So finally I took out a 10 dollar bill a waved that the next thing you know someone stopped. I only needed a ride about 1 mile from where I was . But I’m up way in the mountains, no cell service and I’m on crutches. So there you have it, the truth about Vermont. I’m moving I can’t stand it here anymore. Do yourself a favor don’t come here, plus it’s so expensive.

WHO CLICKED ON ACCIDENT

Hello. I found your video after wondering about Winooski tonight. I have never been there, but a family who was friends with my family moved to Vermont from New Orleans in the late 1960s. There were mum, dad, and four sons. They opened a Catholic bookstore there that I believe was a success. I do not recall what it was called. Do you remember it? I am sure they went to the Catholic Church you mentioned in your video. The dad passed in (I believe 1988), and the mum passed aged 101 in 2022. I only wish I had tried to find them sooner than I did. I would have loved to touch base with her. She was a lovely, kind lady. Guess I am feeling nostalgic tonight.... Maybe someday I will visit Winooski.
