Winter Drone Fishing NZ // 3 Fish - 1 Set!
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
Managed to head out for a quick drone fish in a spot I hadn't tried before. Lucky enough to grab 3 fish on 1 set, then lost my line and sinkers to a snag and had to call it a day. Will most definitely be back.

Landbased Fishing - Optio Bay (BIG KING BUSTED ME OFF)
Переглядів 729Рік тому
Spent some time a month ago targeting Kingfish in Coromandel - didn't see any until the last day and then it was all on! Found a few kahawai and snapper hanging around in a spot that didn't look like anything great. Still an epic way to end off a good trip out East.

Set a PB today fishing South Taranaki, beautiful conditions, offshore wind, and no one around made for an exciting arvo on the sand. Stick around to see what weight the snap came in at!

Drone Fishing Taranaki, Trying Out A New Spot, Snapper
Hi im going to get into the drone fishing this summer. I am wondering what gear you use? Rod, reel, braid, capacity. Do you go out to a set distnace or does that change to suit? Nice video too,😊Stu.
Hey Stu - all the best mate - I use a Penn 10500 reel with a 7ft rod. Braid is 60lbs + and holds about 6-800 metres on it. I’ll start with 300m out and then go further out if I’m not getting anything. Hope that helps!
what did you use on your drone to hold the line?
Hey mate - I used a release gadget from dronedepot. Placed under the LED light of the drone, when you turn the light on, that triggers the release mechanism and drops the line 🫡
The beach looks nice. Where is this?
Kia Ora & Good Evening from Caribbean Drive, Unsworth Heights, North Shore, Auckland ...Another Great Video Bro.
Mean video boys keep them coming
Thanks brother - appreciate the message 🤝🏾
I thought the astroriser goes at the top? Does it do alright down by the sinker? I definitely notice a huge difference using it than without.
Good point - I’ve always had them on the bottom but probably have it wrong - however always had a much easier time bringing it in! Do you have sinkers on the front of your trace?
@@Reeladdictionnz nah bro, I have the astroriser attached with a rubberband onto the swivel that's attached to the mainline. Then I have 7 t-knot loops every 1.5ft for 5 hooks with the 2nd to last one I have a swivel attached to it with a 5oz Breakaway sinker and the 7th t-knot loop is a good 1m away from the breakaway sinkers loop which I use to attach to the drone (Mavic Pro) It's a sick set up and works mint for me
Epic - will have to try this cheers for the heads up!!
What a beautiful area. Nice work on the video. I just subscribed to the channel. Keep them videos coming. Good luck out there and tight lines.
Thanks brother - appreciate the love 🤝🏾
Makes me jealous. Just a warning, it is illegal in NZ to use undersize fish as live bait, so I assume the trevally was longer than 25cm.
Appreciate the heads up - my bad I didn’t realise this so will edit out of the video, and my fishing
Was a good scene ,until the swearing started 😢wont be be watching these clowns anymore.
Appreciate the love brother 🤝🏾

3:24 lol bro you have a fish - start reeling her in
Nice!!! Can't wait to try drone fishing
Thanks mate! Get amongst it, makes it easier for sure!
Loved the video & the editing skills brother! Can you please make a short video of the rig you use with multiple hooks? Cheers Trav from Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
Thanks Trav - will make this one my next video brother stay tuned!
Hahahaha love your reaction catching that snapper, nothing beats the feeling of catching a big fish. I live down in hawera would be mean to go fishing with you one day, I just use a surf caster though
Without a doubt brother, what a feeling! Yeah sounds good mate flick us a message on Insta @reeladdictionnz and I’ll let you know
Don't get caught flying at night
Noted mate 🤙🏼
Hey just came across and like what you produced. Are you making your own rigs up if so what size hooks. And I see you are putting beeds on every hook is that necessary?
Hey mate thanks for the message - yes I do. Usually somewhere between 5/0 - 7/0 have caught big fish on both hooks. Beads aren’t necessary but help keep the bait off the sand where the crabs get to the. Handy if you’re leaving your set out for longer than 10-15 mins a time or trying to catch multiple fish!
Where abouts up north or in taranaki
Up north bro
@@ReeladdictionnzDon't give that spot away I fish there myself

Holy fuck
I enjoy watching your drone fishing videos but if you wish to increase your followers I would suggest you decrease the amount of four letter words as it lowers the standard of your videos otherwise good clips
Thanks for the tip mate, once looking back at the videos I realised how much it was said - doing my best to cut down!
nice video- just to help you out... you need to raise the bail arm when your going out with your drone- if you keep the bail arm down and your just backing of the drag- the reel will heat up and your reel will need to be service in a few months time:-)- keep them vids going
Thanks appreciate the advice mate, only thing I was worried about with opening the nail arm was wind knots. You’ve had no problems with them?
you will want to put your hand on the spool so it doesn't overrun on you, this sorts out any bows in your line while your up in the air- check out pauls fishing systems videos for some great tips, I noticed a lot of structure in front of where u r fishing... did you use gogge satellite maps or boat maps to check this? @@Reeladdictionnz
Awesome mate what a legend! Thanks so much for the tips always welcomed! I’ve only been told but don’t use those maps yet, def a good idea by the sounds?
Bro there’s a heap of structure 4-500m straight off the tunnel
Thanks for the heads up! You had much luck out there?
Yeah it’s a location in a few vids, one of my local spots 👍
@@yakfishfun8441awesome will check it out 🤙🏾
Great video 👍
Thanks for watching brother!
I started out using traces about the same length as yours with reasonable results and then changed to a shorter trace of about 230mm long and found was catching a lot more fish, so now only run 5 hooks per set. Same drone as yours too...
Interesting, I’ll try that out thanks man. I’ve also used those hunting and fishing made flasher rigs tied with loop knots and they went well. They must only be 150mm long. Yeah I found only have 5-7 hooks was ideal so not to catch snags and making sure the breakaway sinkers stay in the ground.
Great work 👍
Thanks brother✌️
Love it out there
So good 🤙🏾
Mean bro some good snapper caught lately around here nice video
Thanks for watching bro and yeah there have, so good!
Look at that snapper, happy days.
Great way to bring in the weekend 🤝🏾
Great vid, Great spot. New friend here. ❤
Thanks brother!
Another awesome vid and great spot. What line were you running? Definitely a nice kingi
Thanks mate! I was running 80lb braid tied by FG knot onto 100lb leader. I think I rushed tying the knot and it cost me in the end!
@@Reeladdictionnz hahahaha I have to have a quiet room and no interruptions while doing my FGs
@@joelvanpamelen6700 Probably a much better idea then on the bricks haha
That's epic! Great work
Cheers mate!
Another awesome vid! Sucks about losing the last fish But fishing in a tough spot like that can cost you a lot of gear and fish and it can be gutting. 🐟👍
Cheers bro, gutted as. Even went back with a surfboard in hopes it was still tied around the rock 😂
@@Reeladdictionnz Lol that’s super keen 😂. Your videos are awesome keep it up! 🙂
Bloody good fishing there 👍👍 good stuff guys. 🎣🐟
Cheers brother!
salut. enjoyed! total pro view!till next time- 👐
