@organic-artistic I haven't quite settled yet. I've spent a lot of time in San Cristobal and Palenque in Chiapas. I'm now I'm Villahermosa Tabasco and will be moving to Veracruz in December. Still looking for the right fit for a long term place while still enjoying exploring off the beaten gringo path.

Hi Luis, please tell us about Aguascalientes. I am considering moving to Mexico and recently saw a video about Aguascalientes and it looked amazingly beautiful and peaceful. I am of Hispanic decent (my parents were from Cuba) and am fluent in Spanish so the language would not be a problem.

The definition of expat is: Expat is short for expatriate-a person who has moved from their native country to another country permanently or for an extended period of time. I consider myself an immigrant and an expat. I think you’re right that the word has different connotations, but the definition is clear. It’s not my problem if people don’t understand what the word means. US citizens are often called Patriots, so for someone like me who rejects the US, I feel I am an Ex-Pat. I definitely agree that if someone moves to another country, they need to learn the language. I love learning Spanish, it’s a beautiful language. Hope you have a great day!
