👍🏻
Those were the days
Yes they was , hanging in Tijuana eating bbq'd eguana
This channel rocks! 😎 ❤👍
Nice portrait of RDS, suitable for framing. 1970 was a great year for Top 40 music. Thanks for sharing this classic blast from the past.
Awesome listening to Jackson Armstrong! He knew how to keep listeners tuned in!
Awesome example of how Rock and Roll Radio should be done!
Great time travel to the Mid 60’s!
Funniest Commercial ever 🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂
The legendary Dick Hugg...R.I.P. 🙏🎶😎
Great time for Radio!!!!
Thank you for these radio posts. Really helps me a lot, I listen to them in the car instead of the "real" radio. I also listen to them as I did when I was a kid in bed while I fall asleep. These uploads make life much better.Thank you!❤
You're very welcome!
As we get close to the one year anniversary of his passing I’m so happy to find all these recordings of Jim.
Yes. Thank you.
❤
GREATEST OF ALL.
Hi huggy boy 😎💙🙏💙👌🎉
WARNING! Partially scoped, but still enjoyable! Thanks for the upload!
DANGER WIll Robinson! 😀
@@retroradiojoe4486 haha!
This is actually an excerpt from the 23-minute December 6, 1965, tape.
Good one!
The AFL Championship,Howard Cosel! This is precious thx Joe.
The station of my life!!!
A Cecil Heftel station consulted by the late, great John Rook. I believe Bill Tanner was the PD.
Like going home again.....
KWEST never worked because KLOS and KMET were already there. MAGIC never worked because KISS fm was powerhouse playing the same top hits. PWR worked because it was the first hip hop R&B with a FM signal however KDAY was a far superior hip hop station with real street cred but had the bad AM signal
THANK U
You're very welcome!
Boy, I haven't seen this since '76! 😁😁😁😁😁
And to think this lady was a major news anchor here in L.A, after a successful run on San Diego TV doing that, only to lose it all due to drug abuse, emotional issues, and a marriage to a well-known sportscaster that was ruined by her husbans' infidelity. Sad. 😞😞😞😞😞
IMHO, she was SO inspiring in all of her public roles - not letting her fused fingers prevent her from achieving high profile success. Especially anchoring LA evening news and its millions of viewers. I wasn’t aware of all the other obstacles she faced. For all that to end the way it did, that is a real shame.
Appreciate these Joe .....really do , greetings from the UK
Hi! Thanks for stopping by!
Brought me back to the 90s good thing you had these love them thanks man all of them 👌🏾😎
You're very welcome!
WOW ! MIND TOTALLY BLOWN ! I MISS KMET. THERE'S NOTHING WORTH LISTENING TO ON FM RADIO THESE DAYS ! MAKES ME THINK OF MY TV FAVORITE, THE ORIGINAL 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE'! - JOHN BELUSHI doing SAMRAI TV REPAIR MAN ! THANK YOU FOR JOGGING MY MEMORIES
You're very welcome!
2 days after I got married. Time flies Gen X.
😊✌🏻
Aways liked Arrow 93 Great oldies thanks RRJ
😊👍🏻
No effin' way!!!! I'm about to lose my mind because this is starting out with one of my very favorite records and groups, "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game" by The Marvelettes. I know the record did will on Billboard but I never heard it in an aircheck. This is just too fantastic for words! Thank you a million times for your amazing uploads!
You're very welcome!
December 1981.
Thanks!
36:03-- Guessing King Cotton wine was something similar to Boone's Farm. 36:34-- Benson & Hedges cigarette commercial made into an MOR record. Wonder if the 1971 ban on cigarette commercials applied to it in spite of no actual ad pitch.
Who was the DJ presenting this programme on Radio 1 on 20th December 1980? I don't recognize the guy's voice. Is it Paul Gambaccini?
Yes! You are correct! 😀
I know now it was Paul Gambaccini, as Tommy Vance mentioned his name at the end of the programme. Gambo's voice sounded slightly different to how it sounds today in 2024. Very good music which still sounds good today. I haven't heard Rod Stewart's version of Passion for quite some time now, I had almost forgotten it.
I was there, it was fucking hot! Deep Purple was the best band followed by Sabbath. There were a lot of Hells Angels just kicking back drinking and enjoying the music along with everyone else.
Nostalgic for an era I never lived in, from a country far away
Don Tracy and Jim Woods were my favorite DJ’s on KGFJ
Grew up with and loved KGFJ….
Just here to remember my grandparents driving me around LA in their 88 Mercury. I’m not crying😭
Looks better anything they have now 👍🏻
