I felt your pain when you were talking about the crab cakes. I’m an Alaskan who knew better than to order the salmon. It was advertised as Atlantic salmon, which meant it could’ve been farmed, but also wasn’t pacific, so yuck. The chef actually came out to speak with us to make sure we were happy with what we ordered because my husband and I made the mistake of discussing it in front of our attendant. Oops! In regards to the Facebook groups and your tampon situation, we had a poster who needed supplies and several posters helped her out because they’d brought extras. The Facebook groups can definitely come in handy!

Must agree, good food but some just ok

Also, I ordered a 12 pk of Evian water. Will that be placed in my stateroom???

Ahh Jen how did i not know you had another channel?! My husband and I took our kids on Royal's Oasis of the Seas (so huge like Symphony) last year. And we just actually got back from a 7 night on Carnival Celebration (carnivals biggest ship..but still not close to as big as oasis class ships). We had an amazing time and the roller coaster on the ship was really cool...plus Guys Burgers was AMAZING. But overall, i pick Royal Caribbean every single day. Thats insane that they weren't selling tampons or pads!! Ok Oasis they had a big vending machine with all kinds of body care products, teeth stuff,ect and it also had tampons. But you are one million percent right about the facebook groups being SO helpful!! On Carnival you couldnt book a spot for any show or entertainment...so you had to line up early and hope you were able to get a seat for everything. I really appreciate royal Caribbeans way of doing that now lol Your time dining wasnt an option? Thats what we did on both cruise lines. Then when you wanted to eat there you just went on the app and said I'm ready to eat... My crab cake at Chops was really good..but nowhere else. I live in PA...like 1.5 hours from Maryland lol Oh lordy i have been to WDW 6 times...the last time was in October 2021 for 9 days. We spend an entire 2 days(morning till close) in Epcot and still didn't get to do all the things i wanted. I can't even imagine the torture only having a couple of hours would be...buuut I'm also a complete Disney lunatic (disney adult 🙄) haha. I will say, if you are an animal lover...there are several amazing animal experiences you can do that are near the port in Cape Canaveral.

I’m born and bred Baltimore, born in Highlandtown, the rest of 47 years in Rosedale. I LOL’d on another video of yours when you talked about RC’s “Maryland Style Crab 🦀 Cakes”. Great advice, especially about the crab cakes. I’m from MD too, Eldersburg, Carroll County. Disney cruise line doesn’t know what a MD lump crab cake is either.

Hey JenX, that was a fantastic description of your experience on Royal Caribbean. My wife and I will be planning a trip in June'25 and I was considering this cruise line. None of the other blogs had information that you described and I am grateful. Was wondering if you booked your trip through a travel agent or directly w/Royal Caribbean. I don't know what you do for a profession but your oratory skills are excellent.

9:10 I had my two teenagers with me and we found tampons on our trip March 2024 on Wonder of the Seas in their merch store.

If you are a “foodie” like me, Royal Caribbean is NOT the cruise line for you. I am Diamond + on RCL, because of my cruise history with them in the 1990’s. The food quality had gone down big time on all the “mid level” cruise lines after Covid restart. I recently did a cruise on Cunard QM2 (TA NYC to UK) and was very disappointed with the food on this cruise, compared to the same Cunard cruise ten years ago. My cruise last month was Celebrity Millennium on their Japan / Korea itinerary, which had good food, but not as good as what I would get on the new Celebrity Edge class ships. I now pick my cruises based on itinerary & cost. My next cruise is on Oceania and then Viking Ocean. Again, the itinerary taking first priority, but the food will be much better than what to expect from Royal. My two favorites on Royal are the French Onion soup and pecan crusted salmon - so on same page with you on your top picks.

I have been cruising since 1982, and just completed my #142 cruise. I have cruised on “budget” to “ultra luxury” lines. I have booked cruises using just about every method available, including visiting a travel agency before the internet. The base price for a cruise is basically the same no matter where you book your cruise, it’s the promotion, discounts and extras that makes the difference. I know the rules, will not name names. One of the major warehouse clubs offers a gift card, which is a percentage of the cost, which can add up to hundreds of dollars as “discount”. I have been using a major travel agency for the last 10 years, which for me, has worked out great. They have “group rates” which beats just about every price. In addition to great prices, my agent often has promotions which includes OBC, gratuities, WiFi, and specialty dinning. And if there are any “sales” after we book, but before final payment, she rebooks it and adjusts the price. If it’s after final payment, she adds the price drop to the OBC. FYI - Royalty Caribbean is not a cruise line for “foodies”. My next two upcoming cruises are on Oceania and Viking Ocean, where the food is great.

Wow very disappointed in the quality of the “dining area”. Leaving tomorrow to get on our boat and 10 years ago the food was top notch. It looks like very low budget items. Where are the crab legs? Where is the lobster? Not looking forward to the dinners😔

I cruised on Navigator OTS a decade ago and wasn't impressed. I think they had Seattle's Best coffee, so at least that wasn't bad. I was so sick of their MDR after 7 nights, we never went back. We've switched to Celebrity, but weren't happy with our 4th cruise, 12 nights with no vegetables. We're sailing Holland America now partially for food, but it does have its drawbacks. Royal's entertainment was the best we've seen, so everything is a tradeoff.

Thankful I'm sober and don't drink sugary beverages neither so I save so much money on any of the drink packages. What they have free is good enough for me people watching the drunkards 😭

We just came off an RC cruise. The food was excellent. We cruise 5x a year and it’s always consistent. Always go to the egg station to get your eggs made fresh.

We've been cruising for over 15 years. We've noticed that since cruising returned after COVID, Royal's food has REEEEEALLY gone downhill. Like you said, it was ok, it was fine, just not as great as we expected from our previous experiences.

Unfortunately, I didn't learn anything. But I would recommend the video to others.

Thats odd about the tampons. I know Icon has them bc im in same boat and got mine early and i take blood thinners. Tmi, sorry but i was able to buy 2 boxes of tampons and a pack of pads. Its the only ship that has happened to me on though....

THANK YOU so much for this video. I came across it a few days ago and loved it. So truthful and comprehensive. Sometimes that's missing in other cruise videos. I realized that some others are positive and then see they get early access/perks, etc. that may be driving the positive remarks. Since I did some of the activities you mentioned, e.g., chocolate factory, I knew that your video was very honest, but also delivered in a respectful manner.

Not sure if RC changed its policy, but when I sailed on Anthem they had a coffee bar in the buffet. It was included in the drinks package.

Is the free ice cream actual soft serve ice cream or is it frozen yogurt? I was recently on carnival and it was all Fro-yo and I am not a huge fan of it.

I remember seeing tampons and basic pads in the gift shop where they had toiletries, they even had condoms.

Omg this sounds really weird to me

Been only to Disney cruise and only eat in the 4 main dining area, rotation during dinner but can use any for lunch, and it’s always delicious. The best dining is Remy restaurant with additional $100 price but it’s a Michelin star restaurants and serve Kobe beef and 7 course menu. Wanted to try RC but now it’s seems very cumbersome.
