S-Tec 40 Autopilot Roll Centering Results
Results of roll centering (calibrating) the STB, HDG and NAV modes of an S-Tec 40 autopilot in a Cherokee 140 using DG heading bug, VOR CDI and GPS CDI. Power to autopilot was turned off and back on between calibrations of each mode. Calibration process consisted of turning a recessed potentiometer screw in the direction of the desired correction for a given mode.

Testing the function of a Ray Allen T2-7A-TS trim tab servo in the elevator of my Zenith CH650. The servo, switch and indicator were previously bench tested to extremes of travel and the servo was left in the center position. It's where the trash goes for people authorized to use it. You apparently have no respect for private property and are free-loading on the people paying the - expensive - bills to have them emptied. If you find a dumpster that has an "Open to the Public" sign on it then go for it, otherwise take your stuff to the dump and pay like everyone else.
I just bought the Stratux and linked it to my Tablet. I have no idea how to do the 192.168.10.1 stuff, none of the made any sense to me. The Stratux is showing nearby aircraft, but it isn't displaying the distance rings. What did I miss on my install. FYI, I bought the Stratux from a military pilot who was using it with Foreflight.
I’ve got a 1961 PA28, how hard was it to remove the interior. What type of sound barrier did you use on the walls and did you follow it back up with insulation? Do you have any reference you could point me towards on some of the stuff you preformed.

If you have a GPS in your Stratux box then the PA (Pressure Altitude) is not displayed but a - or + number with the altitude difference between you and the target. The target also changes color based on if they are above or below you.
Thanks for the clarification. The behavior I described is when using the tablet's internal GPS. I will have to give this a try with the GPS antenna that connects to the Stratux box. Sounds like the info and graphics will be much more useful this way.

Do you have to set anything in the I/O section of Avare or does it automatically pick it up via that I/O app?
The current version of Avare does not require a separate I/O app. Now you just scroll over to the I/O tab, set port to 4000 and check the Listen box. Avare will then receive Stratux traffic and WX data over WiFi.
Cherokee is one awesome aircraft all she needs is new paint job and interior to make it looks nice

Well, depends what you include. I've been using $7000 as my thumbnail number for all the materials, using my own labor. I have a detailed breakdown if you want to get down to nuts and bolts.

My A&P made the log book entry with no net change to empty weight or CG. After complying with the 2020 ADS-B out requirement I plan to have the plane weighed to ensure the numerous equipment changes over the years are properly reflected in the current W&B numbers. Yeah, you can do pretty much anything with a couple of screwdrivers along with 1/4",3/8", 1/2" and 9/16" wrenches/socket. Nothing metric on these old Made in USA birds.

Very nicely done interior restoration ! My 1978 Grumman AA-5B Tiger goes in for new paint, interior, and plexiglass this coming January, 2018. Pretty excited about ditching the 70's paint scheme and interior 😁👍

Just here today, hard to believe that in 10 years it went from this, to having unrecognizable markings.
I was there too, marshaling traffic for the Dawn Patrol. I now have a Cherokee based there so use the runway frequently. It has lost a bit of it's luster and gained some cracks (all filled) but is still in good shape.

It is illegal to place trash, litter or solid waste into a private business dumpster with out the permission of the business owner. This carries the same punishment range as illegal dumping. Illegal use of a dumpster is also considered Theft of Service under the Texas Penal Code (31.04) which is a Class B Misdemeanor.
Do you charge to take people up and fly around flushing? If so I would love to go up!!
