Just let the mud dry for an hour
Noooo, that will lock the moisture in the boot, and cause it to smell more. Plus if you have a leather boot, even synthetic leather, the drying of mud will cause it to crack

Did you stick tobacco to your shoe 😂 but yes obviously a larger brush will do a quicker job. It just depends how much patience you have and how often you need to clean your shoes, there are multiple tools for every job
