honestly, these special stages would be fine if they just kept the "50 or more rings then jump into the giant ring method" aside from Zero present here, these remind me of Sonic CD's stages and i like that

I hate these special stages, depth perception was really wonky, and I mean really wonky. I think I cleared like...one when I was younger and didn't bother with the rest.

And yet they felt that anime needed to be censored for the same audience they made this show for.

Anyway, in both good and bad shows done by 4Kids, you can kind of dissect the weird censor rules. You can have death, but you just can’t say “death/die/kill/murder.” Although, you can say “perish” which gets a lot of mileage, and amusingly just means “die” anyway, so why bother ban the other words? There can be death on-screen too, but there’s a limit. I’m surprised they were allowed the Shredder’s decapitation, but since he was still alive at the end and it was only a mech suit, so maybe that’s how it was permitted. The post-apocalyptic future has disabled Hun with Stockman’s brain in a jar, stitched to his back. They both get crushed by Shredder’s giant suit boot, all of which was accepted. The censors were also precious about blasphemy, so shows can’t say “God” nor “god.” There are a few times when it’s obvious the villain was declaring themselves to be gods, but they could only say “ruler/king/emperor.” Any regal term is fine, but can’t blaspheme against the “one true God,” who or whatever that is - cough, ‘Murican Jesus, cough. Swearing is kind of funny with TMNT because they used the hell out of “shell” as a pun for hell. Has “hell” in it, but don’t dare use it without the s. No damns, but darns are fine. Saying barf is okay, puke is on the line, but don’t say vomit! Can’t directly reference bodily functions, but can allude to them.

To counter some of the 4Kids bashing and irony of this show’s brutality: they were obeying the American censorship board. Every bad change was because of the censors, and if they didn’t edit out that gun, well, it ain’t getting that Saturday morning time slot. The fact the censors allowed all this just reinforces how they were the ones bad at their jobs.

Maybe it's my nostalgia but I always prefer 2003 tmnt than the rest of the tmnts they are too childish. While the this one is true to the source material.

One of the only good shows I was excited for Saturday mornings man.

This show may have flew too close to the sun but it had no regrets and they could've gone further like that one scrapped episode.
