For AC-coupled solar installs with the Tesla Backup Switch, should Solar Installation Type be "none" or "Solar Panel"? Edit: The answer appears to be "none" since app now includes the message "Note: This setting only applies to solar that is connected to a Tesla inverter." below the drop down menu.
Why isn’t Powerwall 3 been designed so expansion batteries can be tied to follower powerwalls?
The CT’s can go somewhere between electrical meter and bus bar or main breaker on Parcial back up???
After my PowerSHARE gateway & wall charger install was complete and "initialized", the technician said it would be a couple of weeks before it could be used to power the house from my CyberTruck. "My Home" now shows on my app, showing the electricity flowing to the transferred circuits, the wall charger works, but "reverse flow" does not. I got 3 emails from Tesla congratulating me on "getting started with my new PowerWALL" (which I don't have)
I just got mine installed a few days ago (V3 Gateway with Universal Charger) and when we ran tests it wasn’t powering the house. I was extremely disappointed. This was the first one these Qmerit contracted electricians have done in my area so they were confused too. They double checked their wiring diagrams and what they actually wired up and everything looked fine. I did some googling and discovered that there will be an update in the Crybertruck in order for me to enable PowerShare. And apparently this can day anywhere from 2 days to a few weeks :/
Is it normal for the follower to not be on the home wifi after group power management is activated?
Have prefabricated taper cut channel flashing, there's no reason to cut the taper on the roof.
It's funny when they refer to L1 and L2 as A phase and B phase considering its connected to a split single phase. wifi isn't a reliable connection for site or solar unless you want a system intermittently functional.
Why doesn’t software determine the proper orientation of the CTs automatically?
Does that question need to be asked?
This looks great and awesome video. Is there an alternative that someone can install to do the same thing for their house when they don’t have a Tesla power wall installed?
I hope to install them at my home in Romania as soon as possible.
As an installer in Sweden, where do we sign up for training? Would like to do the training to be ready to help Tesla introduce the Powerwall in Sweden
super helpful, paints a great picture !
That is exactly what I was looking for. My installer will install two PW3s to my existing Ehphase PV system with CT meters in their Combiner Box. They spec'd a GW2.
Thanks, this was very useful!
This video is great. Told my installer their brand new Ethernet cable was DOA. used my own to prove theirs was bad when they couldn’t discover the second unit. Basic link lights wouldn’t hurt.
The Ethernet cable is powerwall to powerwall. You can connect the powerwall 3 unit to basic WiFi.
Please fix this so 2-phase backup is available AND start deliveries in Sweden ASAP
where is to buy it?
jesus....soooo many moving parts, seems like a nightmare to maintain, even though the idea is great
Mmm ok 1:26
Pretty cool, can't wait to order 9 units when available in Switzerland.
The system is currently limited to 4 PW3 units and 3 expansion batteries tied to the lead PW3, for a total of 7 batteries at 13.5 kW-hrs; 94.5 kW-hrs total capacity, of which less would actually be usable.
Can you make video of Tesla energy meter for gateway 3 Is that the connection so we can put production cts for solar in backup buss ? There is no videos of it empty space on top gateway 2 has those ports for prod cts for solar
Yes it’s 4 sorry was mentioned early in video
What’s the max number of expansion modules? 4 on (1) 20kW inverter?
The only thing missing in this built is 3 phase inverter... not fit for purpose for my house
3 phase units are coming in 2025, its on the road map!
@@bitsorbytes please share with me the URL of the road map
@@l33tr4n55 search for powerwall 3 roadmap and you'll find it. Pasting links are blocked.
@@l33tr4n55 can’t share links in UA-cam comments but if you use your old friend Google to search “powerwall roadmap” the first result should be to your liking.
@@bitsorbytes Where did you hear about a 3 phase unit?
How is the first battery connected? Only see a cable from the middle battery to the outside PW3 unit?
There are ports on both sides of each battery.
Same question I asked myself. These videos aren’t thorough that simple. Didn’t even say expansion’s are on both sides.
Due to expansion models always going behind the inverter model I don’t see myself ever an expansion. You’ll have to essentially reinstall an existing pw3 every time.
you can install them side-by-side too
Side by side installation works too
So it seems like a TACo is all that is needed to make this work. So PW3’s TACo fits the bill?
What the heck happen to the Powershare Gateway Home Back-up for the Cyberbeast Installation credit of up to $4,000.00. I just got a Cyberbeast and told go pay for it yourself. Thanks Elon for the $20,000 surcharge plus no one from Tesla will give me a answer but they did send me the Powershare Gateway and on there website they Required: You must be in contract with a certified installer before purchasing Powershare Home Backup Bundle.

In the case of a gateway 2 with solar panels and multiple powerwall 2's where will the universal wall charger that serves the cybertruck as a powershare connect? To the gateway 2 as another power source? Thanks.
Will Tesla PowerShare functionality in the vehicle operate when using a third-party charger capable of transmitting power from the vehicle to the battery and/or another panel/gateway capable of the same (such as the SPAN panel and SPAN Drive (charger)) when combined with Powerwall 3?
Amazing! The future is here.
why is the backup power output not isolated. became the same power input grid and backup power output?.I just saw this hybrid inverter. It's different from all hybrid inverters
You might like to note that after emphasizing IP rating needs the enclosure to be mounted by 3 screws WITH the waterproof washers attached, your technician procedes to mount it WITHOUT said washers.
Great Hair!!
Can daisy chain be used if one of the connectors will also be used for powershare? This video doesn't mention the communication wires. Will that be daisy chained also? Thanks.
Very Nice 👍 Good
I can't run an Ethernet cable (I only have wi-fi) will this be a problem?
what is the top space reserved for
So this was how the pyramids were built....
Just failed a city Inspection because low voltage CTs are rated 300V, which is class 2 wire and not allowed to be used in the same enclosure. Could anyone address this issue?
Was waiting for this to show up in app or online training
