What to look for when looking at a used trailer part 2.
Переглядів 974 роки тому
This video is what to look for when purchasing a new to you trailer. When making a decision don't forget to add in your time and parts for repairs. And you can always talk the person down in price. Trailers are something that gets used and abused hard. See if you can take it on a test drive. To see if it tracks straight. And if its a tilting trailer check the tilt bolts or pins for neglect.

      Some jacks just do that. There should be a notch on the jack and one that fits into it on tube. If it has flattened or just worn out. You can reshape it with a hammer and a flat or round punch. Or get a new jack. Or hold the wheel with your foot,to keep it from spinning on ya.

    Nice welder. I am a beginner. I clicked on the video because I saw the FORNEY. I am using one at work, it's a different model, but looks like yours. The machine is solid and easy to use. I am considering buying the machine you have or something similar for my own personal use. Good review, thanks a bunch.👍👍

    Hi all , does anyone of you know why my 301.7D does not slow down after a minute of warmup and not doing anything ? It just runs at full power and does not slow down. Fuse Numer 9 loves to break all the time and during normal usage. A Technician has changed it to a 20 Amp fuse and it still breaks ones or twice a day. (update : He changed it to a 40 amp fuse and now it does not break anymore but the problem has not disappeared so it does not slow down.) It use to slow down a minute or so after startup to go to normal idle and that is not the case anymore :) Any clues would help much ! Thank you ! Frank

    this is a bit of an unfair comparison each has their own advantages....snap on and bahco are NOW the same company...the invention of the swedish style is their merit(BAHCO)...but please consider...there are basically three angles...90º 45º and s shape (45º)....90º will give more strength ...just a little bit more.....but.....s shape will adjust better to difficult places.....bahco snap on are built in Spain.....knipex in germany..think german steel is a little bit better and also sHarper...the teeth are better......snap on only does the 90º...knipex the three models stated above......and knipex has a rapid adjustment one as well....think knipex is better....there is only one problem...the leverage advantage of ridgid pipe wrench...nobody shares....unique to the monkey wrench style ....ridgid.....one hand and leverage...but then these are more difficult to use in tight places

    • @PrimeToolbox
      @PrimeToolbox Місяць тому

      I also have a collection of pipe wrenches, including Knipex, Ridgid and Bahco. I agree with everything you've written. Bahco also has some unusual shapes too, such as S jaws and the Bahco 443b which resembles the shape of the Channellock Nutbuster, but in a Swedish pipe wrench. My favorite one is the Knipex with the quick adjustment button.

    Since last year me an my dad been going to harbor freight tools once a month an we both brought the 5 drawer tool cart and I got the 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 inch sockets shallow and deep metric an sae in Pittsburgh an the socket trays an extensions and ratchets and Pittsburgh wrenches an other tools from harbor freight. Hopefully by this summer it will be full of tools. I dont have any trouble with them. I even have a top an middle craftsman boxes filled with craftsman tools also. I'm trying to decide if I really want to do small engines repair. I have 3 riding mowers I got from my neighbors.so I'm planning to see if I can repair them

    • @ifitsnotbrokenfixit1193
      @ifitsnotbrokenfixit1193 2 роки тому

      The 5 drawer cart isca good cart. A coworker has one. And he beats the crap out of it. For small engine repair thats a different subject. If your area is filled with small engine repair shops. It will be hard to get your name out. Depending on what you want to work on. I would stay away from 2 stroke. No money in them. Good luck on fixing them mowers. They aren't that hard. Sounds like you are heading in the right direction with tools.

    How have you been getting along with it? I've been hoping Klutch would come out with their version, but with Forney occupying that area, maybe not? My Cross-Arc was damaged in shipping so I'm just twiddling my thumbs. I don't quite get why Forney goes through so much effort and why people like to dumb down machines for Americans. The MetalMan variant also has a strange UI. I like that they have dual voltage options instead of the OEM Hugongs, but man we get some ugly interfaces to try to work with.

    • @ifitsnotbrokenfixit1193
      @ifitsnotbrokenfixit1193 2 роки тому

      I have zero complaints with it. I don't know if they dumped it down. They made it simple for someone who has never TIGed before. I went through a small mom and pop welding store. If you are unsure about it. If you go through a welding store. See if they have a DEMO that you can try. They say 1/4" aluminum i have not done anything that thick. 3/16" is the most that i have done. I have done SS, steel, Cast and Aluminum. And playing around with cast aluminum. . Don't know if you have watched any. But the fabrication Series has some great info on different brands of tig"s

    I just discovered this Swedish style wrench after destroying my Knipex 10" Cobras on some rigid conduit. I thought I could handle a smaller pipe wrench and be the guy that had small pipe wrenches in my pouch instead of the old tongue and groove. Well, in came the Swedish design and much to my surprise- they had them at Harbor Freight for $13! I'm going to grab some Snap-on brands though because I'm sure they will feel so much better. I was curious about the s-type jaw of the Knipex though, so thanks for the review!
