While not biographical, there are themes in this movie that so closely echo my own childhood. This movie was excruciating to watch, in the same way that you know the nurse is going to scrub your wound painfully but you grit your teeth and assent because in your mind it's so the wound will heal properly. This song stands out; I grew up in an area that got a fair amount of snow, and to this day I love the look of my town after a fresh snow, especially in the dark pre-dawn hours before the roads get plowed and there's all that grey snow on the sides of the road. The song takes me back to the magic and wonder of watching the snowflakes fall, and its contrast to what amounted to a dark childhood. Somehow this song straddles the line between melancholy and wonder, and I'm all for it. Not gonna lie, there's a bit of longing for that lost childhood in there, and this song even hits that note for me. We don't get to go back, we just get to go forward... but songs like this - that inspire me to have the same wonder I did back then - have me wishing for a way to go back, to reassure that kid that things are going to be ok.

She was forced to live at the college and unfortunately was pushed down a flight of stairs by another unruly student while the staff convinced them that they could never achieve their education without perfection. Now, they'd never tell you that, but it's "true".

This song is beautiful and poignant at the same time to me. The under tone reminds me of the show Unsolved Mysteries. It's very hard to describe how I feel listening to this, but it's somewhere between poignant and life is beautiful.
