I love how you futured the early bass work. Brian is known for writing great bass lines but he do a bunch on his own too! They can be simple but so groovy. Dance Dance Dance played the same guitar chorus riff of the guitar, but Brian doesn't play the intro on the recording. That would be a session musician on a 6 string danelectro bass. Brian was a thumb picker, and could play pretty well despite it being seen as a clumsy technique today. Never thought so. Beach boys basslines aren't super duper fast.
