Eternal Ascent - Render Breakdown
This is my breakdown/walkthrough of my render for the Eternal Ascent challenge! Tried a couple new things that worked out well, and some that didn't, but pretty happy with how it turned out!

Lightsabers the EASY way

You got a fancy glowing lightsaber, shot some cool footage, and...it just looks like you're holding a glowing toy but you don't want to spend hours animating a lightsaber blade by going frame by frame you've got galaxies to save! In this finale of my Blender Lightsaber Trilogy we'll learn how to use the compositor to create glowing lightsabers in less than 5 minutes!

Time to put our geometry node lightsaber onto some footage!
Its just red stripes, not realistic at all
I should call her
Excellent tip. BTW, your Lego models look friggin' REAL!
Don't name the attribute color. Anything else :).
what is the point of making geometry from a character image like this? I was waiting for you to round the edges and make a 3d model from 2d....
12 minutes of how u adding single node that not even close looks live VHS? that a scam
thaaaanks! QvQ
Genuine question: how in hell someone even thinks about this? Like do you have a backgroun studies in VFX or something like that? because I do not understand how people are able to see a node and go like "who, yeah if I use this here and combine it with this other node, tweak this settings, ill get an animated light effect" WTF bro
By the way, subbed & liked of course.
This wasn't very clear and it doesn't work anyway ... waste of time
yeah but if you use a spline, the end point might be anywhere, you cant just set the cap at a particular position and leave it like that your setup just sucks, one cannot draw mushrooms and we loose all advantages of using splines
if you use math node for the radius, dont use a reverse node, use math nodes too would be more coherent and flexible
Who knew steel could be so smooth 🦾
Great tutorial, mate!
Awesome Christmas tree model!!
Hi, amazing tutorial, I did it with ease (that mean it's really good tutorial), but I want to apply the modifier and it say "Cannot apply constructive modifier on curve, convert curve to mesh in order to apply". But i have that on the last node before the output, so that has non sense for me, could you help please ?
no snap node in 3.6?
Can't believe this is the last george makes video 😢
These are the video games from my childhood that gave me mad trauma
Excellent tutorial. Well explained.
thank you! helped!

Thanks for the tutorial! It is perfect! Great job! :)
Looks like peanut butter
This is amazing! Exacly what I was looking for! Thanks!
Nice fun project. Thanks.
Thank you so much! I think I can do it now! :) Just a question: how would it be possible to make the saber light be effective on the footage video? One expects to see some light reflection on the face of the Jedi and on the forniture of the... star ship! :D
you have a great name :)
October is mushroom season in the Uk. That’s one reason to do mushrooms in October!
Can i please ask you something?
Hey George would you mind showing me this again and going more in detail or high poly I’m really a ROBLOX programmer and have been trying to separate the bottom parts and I would like to add some squares for lights sort of panels and extrude the ship on the bottom in some places so I can have these lights actually be covered hope this made sense Almost like a lens
you must be kidding? so we need to hard code the number each time?
Man i just wanted to type hello
Hiii

This is wonderful. I have added a random value node to the instances on points node to create smaller and larger objects at my points, and I would like to assign a color based on the random scale value. Any ideas on how I would do that?

hey george! great tutroial, how can I make it pick an object like you did in the starting with a cube. edit: well got it nvm, for anyone else, just duplicate the object and paste geometry node of lighting in it
could you explain a little bit more how do you do that?
what did you do at 8:13 when you clicked very quickly and highlighted the box and it went from a line to the pic at 8:13
toggle node mute for anyone who doesn't know!!!!!
