6:01 I thought someone made art, drawing/painting them. Those are actual diatoms which makes it impressive. Also, lots of lecture videos out there but she makes it tolerable to listen to another human talk.

whats fascinating us that at the bottom of the ice sheet was near glacial lake missoula, and around the rim of the where glacial lake missoula was, i find multiple amanita species. mostly brown yellow ,brown, whiteish yellow, white i find all in the same locations around the water at lake pende orelle in idaho, and red ones up very high at 5000+ feet all arround glacial lake missoulas pathway. Anyone have any thoughts on if amanita moved its way into the americas around things like glacial lake missoula?

This is very informative other than not being clear about which is invasive and which are not, so I am pretty confused

Stinging Nettles helped one of my family member that has Milofibrosis she had to get blood transfusions every two weeks . She bought stinging nettles juice in a bottle at a store after taking it for nine months she did not have to take blood infusion . She turned a doctor that did not believe in it to a believer he said he was going to tell all his patience 🙂👍

I was somewhat disappointed in this presentation. I guess I expected more from the Xerces Society. And I plan to research some of the information. I respect what they are doing and always have. I am also totally dedicated to organic, sustainable farming, pollinators, wildlife etc. I believe what is good for the earth is good for us as humans and that is how I choose to eat. I question the use of a plant like Caragana on such a large scale and appreciate that someone offered and a native alternative. Neighboring states have it listed as a noxious plant for a reason. How long before it becomes one in our state and we begin dumping chemicals on it. I feel it is short sited to consider this as beneficial for pollinators, just because they are on it. Is the pollen from this plant really what the native insects need? What non-native species is it attracting? Does it benefit the entire lifecycle of the insects? Could it eventually become another buckthorn situation? A personal issue in my area of Montana.Lots of questions and I would really like to have more information. I so enjoy the speakers that MNPS offers. Even this one, because it makes me asks more questions, opens the mind to new knowledge and research. Thank you.

Thank you for the video, I love algae, diatoms because they are so beatiful and its forms like radial symmetry, bilateral symmetry and other shapes which I don t know how to interpret them, I have a small mycroscopy and sometimes watch the microsopic algae and paramecium swiming through a few drops of water as if they were microscopic dolphins, it is so nice to watch all of this!..
