The problem comes when they outgrow that decor and you have to let it all go. I did all three of my girls in Noah's ark. I bought so much cute stuff. It broke my heart to eventually get rid of it. I think I did keep a few select pieces.

Who else had the Bart Simpson Clown Bed episode go through their mind.... "Can't sleep Panda's gonna eat me" Those things are just scary dust mite collectors.

I 100% can relate to this. I painted the narrow parts of my doors bright Orange soon after our baby was born. Had I unpacked the kitchen from our move? Nope. But it brought me so much joy. Definitely also painted a bathroom mural right before our second was due. It’s such a satisfying feeling to paint straight onto the walls!

The younger generation who will hopefully be able to buy homes soon, (we will see) seems to love quirky homes and hate the whole sad beige millennial thing going on. I am gen Z and me and my husband are hoping to buy our first home in the next 2 to 3 years. and whenever I see a crazy 70s wallpaper house I get so excited. Also, unless you were actually planning on moving the next couple years, I don’t see a Hall litem Point in curating your home for the next person who will live in it if you really think the murals are going to affect the resale value it’s nothing a few layers a white paint right before you move won’t be able to fix.

I used to be intensely whimsical. But I had kids and had to severely limit my whimsies to give my kids a safe and secure childhood. Now I'm a Nana and my whimsy is back in spades!! ❤❤❤

Congratulations as a fellow artistic person and a more seasoned mother of a 13-year-old boy I congratulate you on figuring it out after only a month that even though we are mothers or for whatever time if we don’t take a small even an hour amount of time every day, just for ourselves whether it’s painting on the wall or getting a manicure or just reading a book with no other responsibility if we cannot do that for ourselves, we will go nuts and we are no good to our baby or to anyone else if we do not take care of ourselves because that is also part of being a good mom it took me a while to figure that out good on you for figuring it out so soonyou got this mama❤

I love it, it's awesome therapy. When my husband was in the hospital dying, our daughter and I had to move in with a friend that let me paint my room to look like a broken castle tower. ❤❤
