When I was judging at our local events I consolidated spins into the riders ride style so it was factored in there but not as an individual trick. It helps keep things organized because some riders, especially little kids, can spin really fast and their trick totals would be really long if each spin counted haha I dont know if those specific judges were separating spins but the judging sheet and criteria should be public and out there somewhere I'd imagine. These were based on my experience and not specific to that competition so excuse any tricks I may have missed 🙃

There's a lot of people claiming they are doing "Dre flips" but its not. On top of that there's people who use the mat (Free Style) and people who dont (Purists). If you're planning on using the mat then yea becareful because its slippery but once you get past that its just jumping off the mat so every trick is easy off the mat, its the riders who catch air using all board that really impress me but to answer your question I ride "purist" style (no mat usage) and I've never seen a Pure Dre Flip haha It would be really hard to get that much air using all board. Ton of respect to any rider who can pull that off. I haven't tried.

@@OroFlows I plan on using the mat to learn the trick but I don't want to get it how i do my sideflips by just using the board. I see people say they did a dre but they just kinda go over their side instead of twisting then doing a backflip.

@@jaxonscootz The best Dre Flip using the mat that ive seen is from this Australian guy... dang whats his name. old school. rly old school. Dale Proctor. He does the off the mat but the form is there. If I wasnt a purist id watch him or ask him direct. his videos are 5 to 10 years old tho but if u dig hard u should be able to find him. GL

Yes. It's still not open and it's unknown when the county will have the funds to fix it since it is a publically owned wave. There's still a double jet 2 hours away and there is a small chance this wave might be fixed by the end of summer 🌊

Correct. I dont want these incidents to scare people away. Some people tell me its a sport for "the younger guys" but everyone can enjoy it without fear if they just take a minute to understand the wave 🌊

The hardest part is riding the usually water logged board and remembering how to do the simple tricks haha I instinctively spin my barrel rolls into Apocalypse's now haha throw on that suit and try it. Good luck!!!

If you bring your own board the prank is over from the start haha I got lucky. They had a new Board out. If it was water logged and broken it would have been a harder prank to pull off for sure.

It's touching the top but when you are learning it's ok to touch the mat and cheat a little. Then as you get better you stop using the mat and only use water. Then when you are really good you barely use the water ✅️

A lot of people do tours of the biggest parks so I try to cover all the one's that offer flowboarding ✅️ For an island without much money we're very lucky to have 2 waves here 🌊

Interesting. Anything you want to highlight that added to the experience? I did see a few other pools outside but other than that not much else. On the website it says... "With the purchase of a Resort Day Membership, guests receive admission to Tidal Cove Waterpark, lounge chairs, towels, and poolside service." They don't advertise free facials, access to a 5 Star gym, or a Free Resort Breakfest so I'm not sure what value the resort adds that's worth mentioning.

Supply and Demand. Demand is so high in season for a high end resort and waterpark near Miami that they bump the prices up to around $250 on the holidays for day passes. At that price you might as well book a night at the hotel and get everything included and I think that's why they do it in season. To remove day passes so guests can enjoy the park rather than have a waterpark hotel guests are out competed for. Just a theory. Out of season its been $65 lately for a day pass and with the wealth in this area $65 is a basic dinner plate to them.
