    Interesting idea, but I've watched many movies and shows and never got the idea that rich people were inherently bad. The thought never occurred to me. It's also worth noting I learned a lot about investing from shows like Moneysworth on TV Ontario in the 1980s, then from Investment TV on Global TV in the 2000s. You just have to be selective about what you watch. As for soap operas, I watched part of one when I was a teenager in the 1970s and had to change the channel because I found it so negative and depressing. I have a theory, that governments give big tax breaks to TV stations to broadcast this rubbish. That way, they will leave the TV off, and instead get out and get more exercise, be healthier, and put less burden on the health care system. The money saved dwarfs the lost tax revenue.

      Great! Especially the concentration part is interesting. As for the boredom part here are a few suggestions: read a book, take a walk, clean your house, organise something, exercise, learn something new (like meditation, that'll help with concentration even more), test out a new recipe, meet or call friends and family, listen to a podcast that helps you solve a problem. It'll only take a few days or weeks to get used to it, afterwards you'll wonder how you found the time to watch TV back in the days...

    I think the meaning behind ‘looking poor’ is that spending money wastefully on designer logos and other items that are ‘status symbols’ to show the world ‘look, I am doing well’ … this is a terrible attitude. Dressing poor is simply a way of saying dress in a simple minimal way and focus your attention on my meaningful things and spend your money on investing and on things that have more substance. Looking rich is a trap to keep you stuck in a loop of spending more than you have, I’d rather use my money to progress in my life and have financial options in a few years

    • @SophiaFin
      @SophiaFin 6 місяців тому

      Thank you for sharing! It's great that you focus on investing your money and growing your wealth to become more independent. I also think not every money spent on certain clothes is a waste if it brings value to the person's life and it's reasonable compared to their net worth. Also, not everyone is trying to show off, people have lots of different reasons to buy things - who are we to judge them? We don't even know their whole story.

    • @SophiaFin
      @SophiaFin 6 місяців тому

      Interesting perspective - isn't the quality of the contractor's work the relevant factor whether to hire them or not? Maybe a family member of the boss works at BMW and he got it for half the price? Or he won it when playing lotto? Or he did buy it because his firm is so good at building houses that everyone wants to have built their houses by them? Just to throw in some other possible ways to think about this :)

    Just dress appropriate for the occasions. If you have to depend on your outer appearance to make you feel rich or have a rich mindset, that's still a bit delusional. Live in reality. The key to being rich is to provide value to a massive number of people. Not by dressing like you are rich or having a mindset of being rich. You can think you are a billionaire all day long, that's not going to happen. But if you put in the hard work for 30 years building something like Amazon, yes you will be rich. Or you invest intelligently like Warren Buffett for 60 years, yes you'll be rich.

    • @SophiaFin
      @SophiaFin 6 місяців тому

      I agree that dressing appropriate for the occasion can be enough. I also agree that providing value leads to making money and that action is needed for any result you want, including becoming wealthy. I disagree with the mindset part - a poor mindset can hold people back from making more money in the first place. Because it also has to do with confidence. And a high income alone will not make you rich, you need to know how to keep it and let it work for you as well.

      Yes, I thought about that and talk about it in another video. I personally do not buy fake goods because of the obvious theft of intellectual property (especially when logos are involved) and because I value not just the name but the quality and the history and the values that come with the company. I'm not judging it, I'm not supporting it either. I'd rather help you save for one real one instead of 10 fake ones :)

    As a person who owns the house I live in, I can say saving space, effort and time maintaining things is still a big-big point when it comes to buying or not buying furniture, decor or similar. Even if I am tired of something and want to sell/donate it - it takes too much effort to do so. So I should be 100% sure I need it before u spend time and money on buying.

      Thank you for sharing! Yes I agree, the work of getting rid of something stays the same, no matter if rented or owned…
