I went looking for undisclosed art from ancient people.
I went to what most people here would consider a desert. This place actually used to be farmland for ancient peoples. Some of the art they created can still be found. Those that are easily accessible are unfortunately often damaged by vandalism.
First time out in this area. The next time I head out this way, I would do it in the winter. It was hot (~100F in September!) and dropped to pretty chilly overnight. I also think it would likely be safer to do this in the winter, solo, just from the decreased bear activity to not disturb your sleep :)
I think I have a better method, after this trip, for trying to pinpoint some of the Native American artwork on canyons/cliffs. I hope I will get the opportunity to use it in the future.
Thanks for watching.

I went to see if anything remained on the top of this mountain.

I went to a lone prominent mountain peak in a unpopulated area. Most of the local residents no longer remember when there used to be something on top of this mountain. Based on hearing that only 10 or 20 years ago, there was at least something there, I went to investigate. I don't think I angered the hunters all too much. I talked to one at the start, before filming. This was part of why most o...
How rare are 'Sky Islands'?

I took a trip out to the wilderness over labor day weekend after scouring google earth to see if I could find another of what @the_pov_channel calls a 'Sky Island'. First time using a drone and most of the other recording equipment. Really need to figure out how to color correct and maybe use ND filters to fix some of my issues. Most of the day was right bright which made it hard to edit the im...
Getting Lost and Hailed on in the Colorado High Desert

Normally, I just take pictures and post them to instagram when I go hiking or exploring (I would link it if it allowed me, but youtube still needs to verify my account). This time I decided to go and make a video. This is the first time I've ever made a video so there are a lot of things I would like to change moving forward. I should have made these changes before going on another hike recentl...

    Please be respectful...don't "break" apart the pottery. Others would have delighted to come across artifacts too! Leave things intact, just as you find them...please, leave ancient sites for ALL to enjoy. Thank you for your time & for sharing your adventures. 😊

      Sorry I didn't make it very clear in the video. That wasn't pottery, that was baked mud in the bottom of a dried out river bank. The absolute last thing I would want to do would be to break any sort of artifact. It kind of disgusted me to see all the vandalism present on the more well known petroglyph sites.

    Perhpas the earth was closer to the moon or further away not sure of what affect our gravity would be on ether scale and because of these changes gravity was completely different. As we are still on course currently drifting away from our moon every day sooner or later, this may also be a factor into changes daily causing changes or even in our future long after us. That is also why trees shaped into rock or turned into petrified stone looks also massive in some areas and thought to be relatively close to the shape of a tree stump these shapes in the earth on valley's floors or the ground surface in those areas also looks like tree branches or even the actual shape as a leaf or cerdar shaped branches. Could be vegetation was much bigger to accommodate for those massive animals. As time and space drifted apart maybe everything became more condensed including us that is why giants were back then and could not withstand gravity as today. At leaste as we may know of. The moon and earth may have been so very different that we could not comprehend it today. Not saying my thoughts on this has any truth but could be just a thought when true giants were transformed and died off due to asteroids hitting earth and our nearby moon altered our earth gravitational pull and thus changed life on earth into more condensed versions of itself. This shock wave could also explain why these rocks or cliff represents a place of refuge for many who lived or passed through. Perhaps Our ancestors had been more intune with gravity or gravitated to these places because of minerals and other stone like quarts stones and copper or iron. We have become less dependent on our 5 sences and have lost our abilities to feel the earth and vibrations around us. More dependent on other sorts of energy and navigation tools like our hand held phones or power electronics from automotive to heating water. This may have negative implications on life not only for us but our planet as well. It could alter our relationship between gravity woth our moon and other planets causing a ripple affect that could disturb our ture course. We all lnow how distructive wifi is to our plants animals and ourselves yet we rely on it to help us communicate. But yet thousands of years ago we did this without these and hundreds of years ago we began to silence these and were occupied by something not to move us into a future of oneness but devided us into many scattered us like dust into unknown lands and ppl. Might be also why if this has any truth could be the result of all living organisms may have turned into stone with the amount of pressure heat and cold and then gravity did the rest. "So interesting yet profound wonders of our planet we all call home and have never called upon eachother to be at peace but continues conflicts and never have tapped into our true self-worth as Our Creator has known we all could be".

I also typically let a few people know where im going and generally i tend to bring too much water, hahahahha. I think many people are too afraid to experience life and lock themselves in their rooms/houses thinking it will prevent them from being hurt. I think it is worse to do that than actually go outside, even if it is more risky. Much love and thanks for watching the video.

    Lichen thrives in all kinds of inhospitable places! It’s a symbiotic relationship between fungus and (often photosynthetic) algae, so it doesn’t need much to survive! We see it in the tundra here in Canada even. Think reindeer lichen!

    • @Not_So_Bored
      @Not_So_Bored 2 місяці тому

      Lovely. Do you know how that symbiotic relationship works, exactly? Like how does the lichen thrive in those combinations? I imagine it has to do with the waste products of the fungus or algae. Always glad to hear more about how the world operates. Beautiful place we are allowed to experience.

    • @tarynkottelenberg2732
      @tarynkottelenberg2732 2 місяці тому

      @@Not_So_Bored the fungus provides most of the solid structure and allows the algae a place to safely live in places it would otherwise wither and die, and the algae in return produces carbohydrates through photosynthesis which it shares with the fungus, allowing them both to survive even on solid rock or in highly toxic/extreme environments where neither would survive on their own.

      The main mine I showed was last operated in the late 1970s. The auxiliary shafts I showed had identification markings from 1995 to 2012. This part of the country is a relatively highly regulated area, so that may add to the costs.
