Oooo, I really like Santa Maria. I was wondering why a few have popped up for sale recently. I'll have to check out Saltfjord, but I'm not sure it can beat the smiley face tokens of Santa Maria.

Spectacular is so good!! I had a chance to play it early because j will be demoing it in essen and I just loved it! I will try and grab Galileo Galilei and I have pre ordered Civolution and Flatiron. Other than that I will roam the halls and see what catches my eye!

I just played my first game of Treos on BGA and it's such a fun and deceptively crunchy game! And you're the second set of folks that mentioned Flatiron - I'm originally from Manhattan, so I really need to check that game out. :)

Oooh, I liked Santa Maria but I don't gel well with colonialism as a theme. I would love to check out Saltfjord... oh wait, I *am* going to Essen, so I guess I'll do it there :] As for the game I'm most looking forward to try out and perchance buy, is Middle Ages. It's a drafting/set collection game where you build up your town and it forms a cute little tableau, scoring you points (obviously). Looking forward to that!

I wish you would have given more of your thoughts on the game...I've been watching it for a while but haven't pulled the trigger. In some ways I think it would be fun, in some ways boring. I do like a simple game now and then but just not sure about this one. Trees are my thing so that's what drew me to it a few months ago. And I would want the expansions so it ends up being quite pricey...how often do you see yourselves playing this game before it gets totally boring?

Played this one at GenCon and I'm pretty stoked about it.

My ranking is also Scholars > Inventors > Wayfarers for now. But the best Garphil game I played this year is still Ezra.

Great video! Great presentation and it was fun to watch! The time flew by. I'd like to see more Battleground. An alternative boardgame would be Core Space (where you don't have to build the miniatures).

Fun challenge

Well, I have to say - and I'm really sorry to do so - Aspens does not seem to be a game for me. I really don't know why but it just does not... click for me. I do however love the artwork on the cover and the table presence seems really cool. I don't have a specific favorite tree but there are three tree related places (one of them might be a bit of a stretch) that would love to visit. 1) Ever since I first watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes I wanted to visit the Muir Woods National Monument (a.k.a. The Redwoods) near San Francisco. I don't know... this place has something... magical to me. 2) Since I tend to fall into hyperfixation rabbit holes I learned about the General Sherman Tree during my researches about The Redwoods. It's the biggest living tree in the world and it's located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park. It's over 80 meters (or 275 feet) high and I can't even imagine a tree that tall. 3) One of the places I want to visit most are the Cataratas del Iguazú in Iguazú National Park. I guess you can call it a tree related place since it is in the Atlantic Forest. I looked at every picture I could find and watched every video... This place is just breathtaking for me.
