    Everytime i try to play the atari ST version with emulation, no matter what copy of the game i use, the paddle/vaus just doesn't move at all. I had this problem for years now and i just can't find a solution. Why the paddle refuses to work in the Atari ST version?

    Really good port! Especially with the scrolling background. It's very much like the arcade game and displays what could have been. I'm glad people are putting out homebrews like this. I appreciate all the work they put into them.

    They should have had Franklin on those wheelchairs...”grabbing” Leatherface which would cause damage to Leatherface. Also...it should start out in the Sawyer family home...going around the dinner table and up/down floors...then outside with Franklin on wheelchairs.

      @@blipman88...have you seen the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre? It is so cool & creepy & scary...BUT...you never see anyone get killed...they didn’t have the special effects to show any. You “think” you have...but you don’t. The second movie is a much bigger budget...it has Dennis Hopper in it...it is super crazy & very gory...it’s excellent. The writer/director Tobe Hooper of both 1 & 2...also directed Poltergeist...but Steven Spielberg took the much of the credit for the film when it became a blockbuster...he was the writer & producer.

    I bought this game on release...and finished it. There is “1” web that is EXTREMELY difficult & VERY FAR into the game...if someone gets to it, chances are they might have finished the game & for me...close enough. I ask people to describe the web...it can be done with a keyboard character...if they say they have finished Tempest 2000 and their answer will tell me quickly if they have finished the game or not. Whenever I ask the question...they never answer and just move the conversation away from Tempest 2000...I squash their arcade bravado...quickly.

    • @blipman88

      wow, never got to the last one. This game was hard for me

    • @F1JV

      BlipMan88...yeah...it’s a Big-League arcade game...I didn’t know there was an end to it back in the ‘90s...just got to it. It then plays again in Beast Mode(?) or Yak Mode(?)...a higher mode that I never really tried to finish...I never have really sat down and played Tempest 2000 in more than 20 years. My big “almost” finishing was with Defender 2000...and I really wanted to get to an end that I assumed would be there because of knowing Tempest 2000 had an end. That is the game I need to concentrate on this winter and finish...it is mega tough. And I like Defender 2000’s soundtrack a little bit more than Tempest 2000’s awesome music. I was probably less than 5 stages away from the end...I was way up there...in a zone...then it all came crashing down fast. And I haven’t played it in 20 years either. Have you played ATARI Missile Command: Recharged? It is excellent...I’m still in the Top 250...239 out of over 103,647 players...85,000 points...on iOS iPad. And I don’t see the whole playing field...I’m seeing like 4:3 instead of 16:9. I would easily have a much higher score if I saw the whole playfield but I’m still going to get a higher score eventually...want to get back in the Top 100 again.

      @@F1JV Wow. Never got that far! I'm not very good at fast-paced games, although I like them. Never saw Defender 2000 but I had Missile Command! You're right, It was GOOD and a good update of the mechanic! and not many people even heard of it!

    I bought this game on release...and started playing as a Marine Soldier first. I decided to not play as any other character until I finished as a Marine Soldier...just because. After I finished the game as a Marine Soldier...I found out it would have been less difficult to finish “if” I had played as the Alien or Predator along the way. Soooooo...if you want the ultimate challenge for AvP...just play as a Marine Soldier until you complete it. The other 2 scenarios are much easier & give clues to helping out your completion as a Marine Soldier. Also...I played at night with headphones on...it was an amazing & intense game in the mid 1990s.

    • @blipman88
      @blipman88 4 роки тому

      So true! The other modes are far easier (especially the Predator) and in them one can learn the layout of the space station. For me, the ambiance is far more tense than recent AvP games. Even the idea that one cannot jump made the decision of killing an alien in the corridor or to run to an open space more tactical

    • @F1JV
      @F1JV 4 роки тому

      BlipMan88...Predator scenario is so cool...but yes...the easiest because of his invisibility. I videotaped the endings of many of my ATARI Jaguar games back in the 1990s...AvP...Tempest 2000...Iron Soldier...HoverStrike...Cybermorph...Fight For Life...etc.

    • @F1JV

      BlipMan88...you might have already saw this before hand...before getting there as a Marine Soldier...but...when I walked into the Alien Queen’s Den...with all the Facehugger Pods everywhere then turned and saw the Alien Queen for the first time...I literally yelped & jumped out of the couch. I saw quite a few Pods but didn’t think the whole room would be filled with them & then seeing the Alien Queen and hearing her screech + all the Pods starting to hatch...wow...scary. I was playing in complete darkness with headphones on...again...just incredible to me in 1994. Yeah...and that’s where the security pass needed to destroy the base is located...I’m like...see what this dead body has on him & get the hell out of here...I had that gun that shoots bullets like water flowing out of a faucet...just mowing down everything. Setting the Self-Destruct & getting to the Escape Ship...was also incredibly intense. I wanted that base destroyed & gone forever...and wanted all the Aliens & Predators gone with it...forever.
