Roger Clemens did indeed have a reserved table in the upper deck club in Cleburne.
Pete Rose Jr. played in the Northern League. Might have been a Railcat? Can't remember now.
Kansas City and Sioux City are city or county owned/operated, and their playing surfaces suffer from it. Not saying their grounds crews don't try their best, but they're not as good as some of the others. We really do have a great field in Gary, and truly one of the best ballparks in the league. Great job to the grounds crew.
@@ThePaulie02 my thing with KC is they make themselves out to be the best AA team overall (plus their fans) yet their field looked like trash and right before the all-start game
Cleburne was great. I got a lot of autographs from both teams down there. And talking to Josh Smith the last weekend, he said it really means a lot to see Railcats fans even just in Kane County. And I get a sense that most of the time the visiting players don't mind signing or talking if you know their name, and aren't just yelling, "Hey #10!"
Dilliard.
He remembered. 😂
Can't go wrong with a fried turkey leg. I don't see any reason to go to Florida to get one, though.
Such disrespect to Ryan. 😂
I have no arguments against Brandon. Clubbie might be the hardest job in baseball, and all indications are that he more than handled it.
Thanks for the support all season long! Always good to see the RRCC either at the Steel Yard or out on the road.
I have this paused. I really have no idea who you're going to name PotY. This can probably potentially go to quite a few players, but I think it will be LG. Maybe Gio, and Valera would have been a strong choice if he had been here all season. But I don't think there is a wrong answer here, just several could be right.
If pitcher of the year isn't Josh Smith, you're wrong.
Good, you got it right.
You gave it away with defensive player of the year.
@@ThePaulie02 I’m not good with keeping secrets lol
There was really only one player that could have been defensive PotY. Abbatine was great defensively, but wasn't here long enough to get an award.
@@ThePaulie02 yea that’s why I didn’t argue for him just because we didn’t see a full ish season with him
Hi, Joe.
Seems like you have a bunch of question. Why don’t you just ask…??? 😂
I have a lot to say about the championship series, but not a lot of time. What a series it was. Especially in the Kane County games, the pitching was outstanding. Both games were so fast paced, and you could feel the suspense in every pitch. There were fans from all over. Winnipeg had a good showing, mostly player's families, but there were some fans, too. But other fans showed up, too; Railcats, Dogs, Schaumburg. It was great to see so many people come out to see championship baseball. But I kept thinking one thing, and Chuck was there, and probably thought it too: why can't that be us? Why do I have to drive an hour, or an hour and a half to see championship baseball? Or even just playoff baseball? Anyway, congratulations to the Cougars. Winnipeg (I was rooting for them) never quit. They also deserve a lot of credit for what Logan and the boys did this year. For a three game sweep, it sure didn't feel like one. The game-winning hit in Game 2 was a bloop in the 1st inning. But what a great series. And who knows? Maybe next year the SteelYard will host some games after Labor Day.
Toronto freezes the puck in maple syrup. 🤣🇨🇦
The pulled pork was good. I don't know what else to say. 😂
@@ThePaulie02 the true highlight of the year
Excelente hijo 🎉🎉🎉 felicitaciones 👍🏼🙏🏼
nice play, but it wasn't *that* great. those balls straight at you are hard to judge, though. easy to move in, then realize too late that it's going over your head.
You could bat .200 and no one would care if you play that hard every inning.
I can hardly see anything crazy catch though
That’s my bestie
Crazy catch
Fuckin' Quintana...that creep can throw, man...
Great throw
Hiya thanks for your love for the cougars
@@Kramer247 well it’s more for the RailCats then the Cougars. But thank you for watching.
Jeter is statistically 1 of the worst defensive short stop in history!
The pitcher really sold here
No pitch, swing, or hit. Who cares.
💯
“cheater”
@@mlbAct how so?
@@railcatstalk do you not have ears ?
The SteelYard ground crew does such an amazing job. Look at Kansas City's debacles this year. Some of the fields look really good, whether it's on AATV or what I've seen in person, but we really do have the best natural field in the Association.
@@ThePaulie02 yea a lot of the players I’ve talked to love the field RailCats players and opposing players
It was two years ago tonight that I was in Lincoln, and that backdrop is just amazing for the fans. As good as it looks on AATV, it's even better in person.
@@ThePaulie02 at least I’m not the only one who sees it that way. Nothing wrong with the SteelYard back drop but there is just something different with Lincoln.
I hope all the players realize that fans really enjoy getting to know them. Any one of these guys could be out of baseball at any time, and I hope they know that we love rooting for them in Gary.
@@ThePaulie02 I think the players do enjoy and I think they know, they appreciate the fans.
I've been calling him Howie "The Jet" Rodriguez, as a nod to "The Sandlot."
@@ThePaulie02 that’s a good one.
I like the negro league idea either we rebrand for a night or I’d say we should pull a Kane county and keep the name but design our jersey negro league style. Either or seeing that and being a part of that would be a great idea
@@thomasmarsh325 awesome! Thank you for the feedback!
I was at this game too
@@DsarmGOAT well you saw a good one! Not many this season but things can change!
@@railcatstalk 👍
Okay! I don't want to hear any more crap from Chuck when I wear the other team's jersey or hat! 😂😂😂
lol well now you have something to come back at him with lol.
I didn't like giving up an out to move the runner over.
I rather take that then trying to score the runner from 2nd and the way the inning went if you didn’t sac bunt there the game would have continued. The pitching was good in the game so sometimes you have to sacrifice an out to move the runner. I’ll take that any day of week in that situation.
That game one has to be one of the best pitching performances I've ever seen at the SteelYard. And I've seen some good ones.
It's funny to celebrate an error like that, but they did put themselves in a position to win, and sometimes those are the breaks you need.
Thank you for all of your insights and expertise........All of Your Subbies Love It!!!!!!❤
I expected better defense from Quintana.
One of my sources in Sioux City said that Nogowski has been looking for a fight since day one.
Yea I heard he isn’t well like inside the locker room either. He’s all bark no bite
I never seen such a die hard fan of an Independent baseball tea. Most fans go to games to socialize, eat what's on the menu at the concession stands, any other activities they have there, and go home. Too bad y'all can't phsyically play the South Bend Cubs. It would be a nice ol' minor league rivalry.
There’s a lot of die hard Independent league fans. But most fans of smaller leagues even affiliated ball will have higher causal fans than die hard fans. Also independent baseball is more intriguing as they don’t have a big club doing all or most of the moved.
@@railcatstalk It definitely is. I wish you had more views man.
I do not want the 'Cats playing South Bend, unless the current team leaves. In that case, I'd love for South Bend to join the Association.
We socialize and eat, but also watch the games.
It was really windy Tuesday, and blowing out to LF. But the wind had nothing to do with Rincon's HRs. One was way up on the net, one hit inches from the top of the scoreboard, and the last one went over the netting. They all would have went without the wind, but maybe would have only been on the concourse.
I could hear Lamarr all the way behind the bullpen.
Yea he was trying to keep thing calm didn’t work lol
I'm curious. What MLB team are the Gary Railcats affiliated with? I live in South Bend. The South Bend Cubs obviously are affiliated with my Chicago Cubs. Before that, they were the Silver Hawks and affiliated with the Diamondbacks, and before that the White Sox. I gotta give you credit for going to Railcat games, even though Gary is a super sketchy town.
The RailCats are in the American Association which is an MLB partner league but really it’s just an independent league so they are not affiliated with any MLB team
@@railcatstalk Does that stadium ever fill up?
@@DCSk8er529 on special nights but the average attendance is around 2,500 to 3,000. But it’s close to 1,500 to 2,000 a night
@@railcatstalk Gary definitely needs them considering all the bad things that happened in Gary.
@@DCSk8er529 yea Gary gets a bad rap but nothing has happened inside or outside the ballpark while games are going on. You have better chance of something happening in at a white Sox game vs a RailCats game
The sound quality was bad. Even 95.9 had the Milwaukee broadcast. There seems to be issues with AATV in many ballparks, and the league needs to address it. Letting fans watch on AATV for "free" doesn't mean much if the product is garbage.
I miss Ryan Zimmerman, btw.
Have to give Andrew time remember 2 year ago I mentioned something about Ryan and you said he is starting to grow on you. It’s just a change in broadcast. It also doesn’t help when the team isn’t succeeding.
It just feels like this is how the season is going to go...
I believe I heard Andrew Mild say Valera has an eight game hitting streak going back to last season.
I was just basing it off of this year not so much last year. Yea I get it technically extends from last year but it’s last year
