I am an instructor here at Cape Fear Community College who started as a part-time faculty in Fall of 2023. I teach Public Speaking (COM 231) and Introduction to Interpersonal Communication (COM 120). I see that my role here is to directly help students perform better in their careers and function professionally while being innovators in their chosen vocation. I received my Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Florida State University in 2007 and I have been teaching in higher education since 2003. I have worked at: Western Carolina University, University of Rhode Island, University of Connecticut and retired as an tenured Associate Professor at Bethany College in West Virginia. In addition, a couple of years of working for New Hanover County schools, especially with exceptional children, was an inspiring experience.
