Red tail s so beautiful
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Enjoy your new camera. You seem happy.
Thank you and yes. Will be posting more video, been busy with the holidays.
@JaniceinUtah I heard the pre-capture is incredible. Awesome camera.
@@paulmalone8170 yes, and it really stays on the bird in flight.
Congratulations and enjoy! Its always nice to see that excitement of picking up something new. When we grow older we may not have our parents creating exciting moments like Christmas gift giving anymore but really still stay as children excited for presents in our minds. It shows. I could see that excitement in your smile and eyes. Ita a good feeling.
thank you so much! Hope you are having a great day.
It is very pleasant for you to open a great achievement of yours, even another achievement that you like, like a beautiful and wonderful camera canon eos r1❤🥰👍✌
How nice of you to say that, thanks.

Nice shot. You got it already? Congrats!
Thanks, yes we have had it since November 20, 2024 and are loving it.
Great photos of wing spread at the end. Nice video🙂
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
That is one great camera.
Loving it, thanks.
That is sharp!
He was close, but hand held the camera. Thanks.
Janice! First off, congratulations on a fine piece of equipment. It was fun seeing you unbox it. I just wanted to ask. Were you nervous spending that much money? I’m asking because, I’ve spent the last year working my butt off saving money, taking a third job to finally have the cash to buy this camera. I know it’s going to help my photography, great investment, I also have all my bills and debt accounted for…but for some reason I’m nervous to make the purchase. Not sure why!
Thanks, for your comment. I did the same as you, 3 jobs etc., to buy my first car. That was when I was 20 years old. I did struggle with late pymts.at times, but successfully paid off the car loan. I did not have a co-signer. Did not regret that purchase. As for this camera, we are retired and doing fine. Conserve in other ways, do not eat out much, things like that. As noted in the video it is a combination gift from my husband and not put on credit. We want to enjoy our season of life and this camera is a aid in that. I do not use it as a business, just hobby. No one can predict the future, but you can always sell it and get some money back. We sell our camera and gear when we move up to apply to the new item. From what you have shared, I think you are wise in the way you handle your finances. Whatever you decide, good luck and success in your business.
Thank you Janice. I just made the purchase 5 minutes ago! “Can’t predict the future.” Trying to live it like you! 🤙
Ahhh I very much doubt this is his last project....
Wish you were my grandma lol
Thanks, lol!
Hi, thanks for the next interesting video with the R1! I see several situations where the focus slips away without a clear reason, e.g. at 10:34 minutes. May I ask you which lens you were using for the great blue heron? And do you use the most important settings for these shots (animal recognition, eye detection)?
Yes, I saw those situations myself. Yes, animal eye detection is enabled. 100-500 mm with 1.4 Ext. I will post video today, from our excursion yesterday. I did google that problem and some suggestion that there might be a focus sensitivity control that could help. Not to due with an R1, just general. Have not had time to look into anything like that yet.
Great footage.Did you film it in 6k raw or other resolution. Do you noticed any problem with overheating?
Thank you. DCI 4K No overheating.
Are you using a gimbal?
No, handheld.
Hi, thanks for the video about the topic "R1 video" that is currently my nr. 1 interest! If I look on minute 3:40 of your video: Would you say the AF was shaky or is it due to heat mirage that the focus is slipping?
It was about 44 degrees F that day. I balanced the camera on my car window. I just now looked at the original raw footage and I think it was more of my UNSTEADY camera and the distance I was shooting from. My arms are not as strong as I wish , lol. Thank you for asking, in the days ahead I will post other videos.
@@JaniceinUtah Thanks a lot! I am so curious about the R1 video AF capabilities because the same slight focus pumping applies (at leats sometimes) for my EOS R5. And before I invest into the next generation (R5 II vs. R1) I want to study and learn as much as possible from reports of early adopters like you. 🙂
@@Nature-was-my-first-love will be posting video from today either later or sometime tomorrow. I am hoping it will help.
Well chosen music clips to match the video.

What changed so that you could film again in the refuge?
There isn't a rule that bars it. As long as you are in the correct spaces. www.fws.gov/refuge/bear-river-migratory-bird/visit-us/rules-policies

First video I've seen where the lift top matches the height of the counter top. Always wondered whey they were all set so low.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for letting me know.
As a Cummins truck driver I do also roll coal however I have the decency to at least respect yall to an extent and meet at a halfway point, where I don’t roll coal every chance I get, I only do it occasionally and not often
Thanks for viewing.
Beautiful ♡
surprised it didn't try to eat any of them
He didn't seem bothered at all! Thanks for the comment.
Since penguins will eat anything, including other birds, the blackbirds are probably quite justified in their hostility.
Thanks for your input.

Cool! I love that area.
Thanks, our favorite birding spot.
Nice video with lovely capture
Thank you very much!
I've never seen that many pelicans in one place, even along the Atlantic coast.
Well we certainly haven't. Have you ever seen the "flying in circles" behavior? We have only seen them forming circles in the water fishing.
Wow! So many pelicans!!
It was amazing! Thanks for viewing.
