I’m trying to work out what people mean when they say they want to get politics out of council. The whole thing is exactly political. Lots of people say it, they obviously mean something.

Great episode. I feel like John Ruddick is too lenient on Trump. It was good to see Pietro push back on that point. I’ve listened to Dave Smith break down how Trump failed in his first presidency and why it seems he might not have learned from his mistakes and I personally found it rather convincing. The establishment Republican Party is still plagued by donors supporting Warhawks like Nicky Haley, so It will be interesting to see if she gets an appointment to his cabinet. I feel like she’s a good litmus test on Trumps commitment to actually draining the swamp. Any thoughts?

I did what Paul said, and watched a recording of the last local council meeting. The first thing I heard was a question about a guy not being able to stop the public toilet doors from automatically opening, creating an embarrassing moment from him. hahahahaha, I can't do this.

The U.K has been beyond voting there way way out of this for decades. Unfortuantely, there is only one way and I think they'll need to go through greater difficulties before (or if) they realise.

I agree Australians do seem to be very timid. I hadn’t thought that maybe it’s because we are largely an unarmed society. I think it makes some sense. The problem is that Australians are also timid of the idea of owning guns and being responsible for their own safety.
