right, that makes sense, thanks for that. I guess not all trucks, especially the smaller / cheaper ones have that brace. I think my Arrma trucks have them. Yeh the 1/10s are probably the sweet spot, however I do still enjoy my 1/12's and even 1/16's as you can run them in smaller spaces. Add in a gyro and you have a fairly controllable and very fun little basher. I do intend in bringing out a video on this soon, thanks for watching!

Thank you! Ive continued to work with this truck and I still would not recommend it, weak screws and poor steering. There are version 2s of this available now, though if I had to recommend one I would suggest the HAIBOXING 2997A.

Hi there, thank you for watching and your kind words. At this stage sadly I still have not been able to complete my research on this truck due to unforeseen circumstances, so my opinion is not yet complete.. I have seen many people get them to run quite satisfactorily though so I think if you buy one of these you will be pleased, it is generally solid, has good electronics, the only real issue is the handling and the screws are a bit weak. Otherwise its a strong chassis, but I still haven't had the time to get it to stop tipping over.(this may have been fixed in the V2 that came out) The other truck I would think would be a good option is the Team Associated Reflex 14MT Monster Truck. Though I do not have one of these yet, either!! Best of luck and enjoy your new truck whatever you decide!

Hi I dont have a traxxas erevo nor do I have any experience with them, if I had to guess I would say the traxxas would be a safer bet.

yeh it didnt help. Ive since realized the shocks were out of balance from the factory. more on that in next video 🙏

Hi there! What part are you looking for? Ali express, banggood, ebay and a new one I just found called rcbuying are all good places to check. It can also help to get the part number from the manual. If you get stuck you can try sourcing parts from the 903 cars as well they are a close match. Let me know how you go and if there is a specific part you cant find I will have a look for you! Sometimes these manufacturers prefer resellers than stocking on their own web sites. Good luck.

Oh yes you are right! I have linked the wrong batteries. The ones I got were 2s, 7.4v versions. Thanks for pointing that out I will remove the link. Do not run on 3s the esc is not designed for it. I managed to find the correct batteries so I will update the link!! Thanks for letting me know!

Awesome, its a great car! Fair warning though these ZOP batteries do not fit perfectly. They do work, but they are not a perfect fit. I used a bit of foam underneath to get it to sit a bit better but its not ideal. Still they are good value for the money so if you can get it to sit then you will be ok with it. I added an extra velcro strap to keep it in place. The stock batteries do not last that long, sadly.@@carlh2007

@@avolationindustriesI got the rc car it runs great still waiting on the zop battery. I ditched the t-plug and replaced with XT60 in my experience tplugs are pretty poor and have a high resistance you can feel them warm after running the rc car. My car came with 2 of those 1600mah batteries to i made a joiner xt60 plug to run them both in parallel and they fit nicely in the car. Performace is def increased it can now pop a small wheely where as with a single battery it could never get the front wheels up. Ill look at figuring out how to replace the electoronics and run 3s!

Hey thanks for the update!! Thats excellent!! It has crossed my mind before about upgrading those plugs, I think I will definitely make a point now to do that. So many of my trucks run on those deans connectors! Stoked you got some extra beans out of it, less resistance would likely mean better efficiency also, better battery life. Hey thanks for the suggestion, but I dont think that would actually solve the problem. It's not the steering, it's the ballooning tires and unsteady weight transfer that is tipping it over. I am lining up a follow up video on this truck, I may add a gyro just to test it. Thanks again 👍

@@avolationindustries Yes, you are right, the wheels are soft, but they are good for jumps, and anytime you upgrade to stronger and better quality ones about the body roll, yes you're right, but it wouldn't want to be a stable race car at 50 mph. Think it costs as much as a Traxxas Xmax body I think it is exceptional for this money, 10 years ago we would not have dreamed of having something like this for this money. I think that for a beginner it is wonderful and quite resistant A gyroscope will help, unfortunately there is no way to do it. Best regards

@@avolationindustriesSo basically, there's some Arduino software you can somehow get to "train" on a predifined "line" (say an articlte of clothing like a red shirt or something) & pair it to a camera so that it follows you/subject. A kit like this which is "terrain-fluent" w/ the big wheels is an ideal candidate for a Blade Runner-esque follow thing.

@@thecandyman9308 that sounds like a really awesome project! I hope you put it on youtube or similar. I want to find a way to do auto tracking with a gimbal camera or a drone - these little trucks are hard to film and run at the same time!

I have heard very good things about those also, part of the reason I invested in the 14210. They are investments though, not always as cheap as you'd like.

Yeh I hear you. I have heard from one of our viewers who says he has dramatically improved it by levelling out the truck at the rear by installing slightly shorter shocks, but I have yet to confirm this myself. I will post an update if I do, meantime maybe check if yours is riding flat or high at the rear.

@@avolationindustries That would be great. Is it difficult to do? (I'm a complete newbie to the hobby). Overall, the bigger size of the HBX2996 compared to the 14210 seems like it makes it a bit more versatile on rougher ground. Is that right?

@@JonathanSharples I think the 2996 is a lot better balanced with a lower center of gravity. It grips or slides where the 14210 just flips over. Its not terribly hard to do, but its also not a cake walk either, you need to swap out some electronics, namely the ESC and receiver. Finding the right wheels is a bit of a guessing game too, as you dont want to add more stress to the running gear than necessary. I am a newbie too though, and thats part of the fun.

I would imagine so, however I use a SkyRC charger so I don't actually know. I've used USB chargers like the one included on other buggies in the past with no issue. The golden rule with charging is to keep it under observation. Charge it while you are in the same room. Dont leave it unattended, keep tabs on its temperature. And dont let it charge longer than necessary. Also, dont leave a battery on full charge for more than 24 hours if you can help it. This will help maintain the battery life expectancy.
