I had to move in 2008 and in watching now in Arizona 2020 just hating that I ever left.

The way I see it is that it used to be a small friendly community. I lived there and went to school there from 1967 until 1982. I watched the real estate prices quadruple in only a few years. Today, a lot of the people that live there today are millionaires. The whole town is based on MONEY. Its NOT the same town that it used to be and that's from my own personal experience

It's a good place especially for adults and small business but you have to have a lot of cash to live there

I lived in Burlingame from 1981-1991 when I first moved away from my parents house. I left Indy and found myself a job at the Burlingame Chevron car wash just a block south of Burlingame Ave. I love that town and think of it occasionally. I ran into Joe Montana twice, once at the car wash and the other time at La Pinata's restaurant. My favorite place was the California Bar and Grill. Paid $595 a month for a one bedroom apt. I have a feeling I could not afford to live there today :)

Got to love Il Piccolo Caffe! And yes of coarse Royal Donuts Shop, their home-style potatoes are delicious! and cant forget Pick of the litter thrift store!

Too bad Broadway is nearly impossible to get to unless you drive to it. Caltrain stopped using the station there a year or two ago. *shrug* Burlingame Ave. is alright, but the turnaround for stores there is stagering. Maybe if everything wasn't so expensive, the shops would prosper. It's a nice town, but a pricey one.

I have to agree with you on that. To an extent, Burlingame is to the Peninsula what Miami is to Florida :)

i used to live in Burlingame. i miss it there, so many nice memories......

Bit of England is no longer there. It is a Mexican Bar/Resturant called Hola's which has a good atmosphere and serves very good food. Banana Republic, Gap and the Apple Store are all on Burlingame Avenue now. It is a lovely town. I went to St Paul's for nursery school in the mid seventies.
