It might just be a coincidence but Jayce also wasn't targeted. It may have been intentional by Victor but if it wasn't that could mean it has something to do with interacting with the hexcore in ep 3. If this were true then that means Heimerdinger should also be immune but that's just a theory

@@grilledleeks6514season one was actually pretty simple. the first 2 eps of act 1 and 2 would be just a build up and spoon feeding of the conflict so ep 3 could actually be the conflict and usually was only one thing happening. season 2 stops spoon feeding you but you can extract the what is happening if care about the details. why ekko escapes viktor? they never said its impossible to decline it but the guy is showing you the end of all your suffering, why would not want it? ekko character is all about sacrifice his future to give a good present to everyone (he sacrificed his future to be a leader and protect people from silco, his future with powder, his perfect life in the glorious evolution)
