As I am getting older, most of the anime quotes I found deep are now cringy, yet Iskandar's(Alexander's) are still amazingly good and don't sound cringy.This anime really hit it on the spot of how a great leader and one of the greatest conquerors in history woule act and behave. This speech is amazing, but people forget what Saber follows that up with in response. Whilst there is merit to his words, she completely flips his reasoning on its head by pointing out the vital flaws in his ideal. “Kiritsugu, don’t you understand? If you do evil to stop evil, that rage and hatred, will give rise to new conflict!” Fate/Zero’s writing is so spectacular that you can agree, or at the very least, understand almost any character’s point of view. They all have great points.

This is just the back and forth war, the eternal nightmare that churns in the souls of men, women, and child...between chaos, and order. It is easier to tend towards entropy, to let it all go, to embrace chaos, than it is to stick to a system of order. But there is also the embracing of a rigid system which allows no quarter, an automatonic algorithm, lawset, or whatever guiding principles that would be drilled into one's brain from an early age, to that point which it couldn't be removed. I think Saber's philosophy wasn't wrong I just think she went about it in the wrong way she detached herself from emotion and therefore became detached from her people this made her someone that couldn't relate to them so while she did indeed protect them she lost sight of them an individual people just look at Mordred as a prime example here.

I have been rewatching the series to prepare myself for the movie that's coming out and it's just now I have completely grasped how well this speech opposes everything that Oikawa thought at the beginning of the series.

No matter the emotion or rationalization of the dead, everything ends with its most logical conclusion......... DEATH, death is the goal, the end of all things. It doesn't matter how you get there, be it by logic or emotions, all dreams, all fears all hopes end in death.

Kinda mostly true, don't really think it's anything too profound... Feel like if you just look in depth into human history it's pretty obvious... I know a ton of history and I feel like that knowledge has kinda desensitized me a ton towards a lot of awful stuff because like I'm just aware of how common some really awful stuff is throughout history and continues to be tbh... And like it also just seems weird to me how people will care so much about how a few years ago a dozens of people died vs. a ton more people dying a few hundred years ago in some incident...

If anything that God is more irrational than the people. Trying to get one little girl to admit you exist while constsntly giving her more weapons and magical powers to fight off everything is a great way to make her believe in her own power instead of you. Basically, many Human beings will keep fighting their doomed causes and do damage to themselves, their peoples and the world out of stubborn selfish pride as well as being driven by pure hatred for their enemy for friends and loved ones lost in times of war. They put raw emotions and a desire not to lose face ahead of logic and it's why the world is the mess it is because even when faced with proof that what they believe is wrong, that their side is going to lose, etc, they irrationally attack the credibility of those saying that they're wrong and will even physically attack them to make them stop what they're saying. They'll also keep fighting even if giving up the immediate fight to be able to try again at a later date is an available option or if giving up is the path to a better future for themselves and their peoples. Because of the Human desire not to lose face and to act on raw emotions, I have deep resentment for those Humans who refuse to see reason and continue to harm the world with their selfish pride as their madness and the way that the Human brain is wired threatens to destroy us all.

As a historian, it’s surprising how unwilling to give up populations have been through history, especially industrialized nation states. Usually, it’s the government who gives in before the population is willing to.

Still one of the best speeches regarding humans emotions. There is no one and I mean No human is capable of 100% rational thoughts. We are beasts capable of thinking. No matter how smart or how logical we may get. In the end we are all swayed by emotions like beasts.
