Thanks for the timely reminder! I hit a milestone birthday last year and it’s made me think about using the “good stuff” now and not tomorrow. Good points! Thanks!
Did you launder and machine dry the fabric first? Sometimes that takes care of the distortion. Not always! Some prints are just printed off square.
You are no longer posting videos?? I know it’s a lot of work. Enjoying your voice & presentations! Perhaps you’ll reconsider?!!
You just popped up in my feed! Glad you did!!! 😊
Thank you! Use it, or loose it!
I’ve had problems with crooked panels too!
😊looks good and yes I have had problems too
It turned out very nice💕
This is more like crazy quilting and not so much crumb quilting.
If you die with the most fabric, that means you haven't been sewing fast enough....LOL Seriously, I have some fabrics that I am just frozen with. And I need to make something. My daughter does quilt, but not sure if she would do anything with the ones I am talking about. (Kaffe Fassett) I have moved and not settled into my sewing space quite yet...but sometimes I feel like just cut it in squares if nothing else! But this entire video...Oh, I don't even know the words. I am the world's most indecisive person you could ever meet. So many things I want to do/make but cannot choose which one.
New to your channel Great tutorial. May try this way as quilt as you go Love the tip on putting paper under the batting before you cut to save your mat.
Love this video. Yes it was very inspiring. What did you do with it after it was finished?
Thank you! I made a table runner out of it!
Can you use a 1 inch piece for joining?
Thanks for your encouragement.
That is so awesome. I would love to make a jacket using this method. We celebrate Pumpkin Capital here in our town and it would be perfect for the October weather. Thanks so very much for this tutorial..
A question on yarn and couching. I was wondering if you ever used couching on items that will be washed a lot. I am making a series of lap robes and wheelchair lap robes for my doctor to give out to her home-bound and hospice patients. I think the extra design and texture would be nice for elderly patients. I know these items will probably be washed more frequently than a bed quilt. Do you know how couched thread holds up in the wash?
I would imagine that it would depend on what you were couching. Many decorative trims are not made to be washed frequently. I think you'd have to experiment a little with what you are planning to use. Thanks!
@@pamperedpugcrafts2814 Thanks. I'll test a few of the fibers I have considered.
Trim your corners on your self binding and backing before you miter them…much less bulk.
Tqsmuch for sharing, it's a beautiful project 🤗💓
I had cat Laurel Burch fabric that I have had for years. Saved and saved for something special. Abbee kitty was really sick and no vet appointments for a week (Covid). There was a lady ( Gina)down the street that had alot of cats. I asked her if she would help me with Abbee and she did .Gina came a couple times a day to help. I made her a fulll size laurel burch quilt. She was very deserving and I was very happy to make it for her.🐾♥️♥️
It didn’t come out bad! I would have used some of the backing fabric in the corners but it looks great!
Oh I just love this - so easy and simple but impressive finished look. Thank you
I began sewing as a child in the 50s. I learned to prewash and straighten fabric very early on. I remember learning to pull the fabric to straighten the print in Home Ec class. I did not start quilting until the 80s but "happy accidents" in sewing garments led me to always prewash and pull threads or rip to make sure I was on the straight of grain.
Great ideas
I am enjoying your videos. Just found you and have subscribed
Sage words of wisdom!!
Very helpful and positive message.
"Get your creativity going again"... great advice! Just take out a few of your fat quarters and make one of those darling zippered pouches. Show case those lovely fabrics...give as a gift and double your pleasure. Let's start using our fabric we've collected...favorites first. Then test your generosity and give it away!! Everything you've said in this video makes perfect sense...thanks for reminding us to share our talents as well as our treasured STASH.
Drooling over your machine!
Quilting is totally improv! No quilter is a dumb ...ss. Just ituitive and adventurous!. Cute quilt! Yes , panels are like this alot!
I love crumbs. Calgary, AB 🇨🇦
This spoke to my heart today!! Thank you 💜
What mistake? It's adorable. 😉
Last year I decided to cut few 2-1/2” strips from each piece in my stash. It was therapy during Covid times. Now I’ve started making 5” squares in addition & it will make it so easy to start something! No fabric is sacred. The joy is in using it.
It's very cute.
I think it would be easier to use 1 inch sashing.
For too long, I saved pieces that were a fat quarter, just in case the perfect pattern needed a whole fat quarter. Not anymore.
Wise wise words! Thank you for the reminder! Love Emma Bombeck too.
Love your work, but find the finished fabric a little hard on the eyes - have subbed.
Oh yes! I have fabric in plastic boxes that I’ve hauling around for over 20 years! My favorite piece of wool and another piece of silk could be my favorite jacket. - you have challenged me to make something! Thanks! 😁
Good save!
🥰Love this fabric. Thanks for your videos ❣
🥰
Love this video 🥰
🥰
🥰
So you quilted the top squares separately, sewed on strips io attach squares to each other and they had WHITE fabric on the back. You did not sew any covering strips to white backing fabric. Now you added a yellow backing fabric that covered entire size of quilt project and that you quilted in ditch. Why? If you did this on a full sized quilt, you still the issue of quilting a whole quilt on a regular sewing machine.
I have the same question
I came across this video today and I really needed to hear your wise words. THANK YOU. I am now a new subscriber. Looking forward to your videos.
I want to know how you attach the back
Hello! I have a video here - ua-cam.com/video/ofWvnyGgz70/v-deo.html

When you went to the sewing machine and started sewing ... then i subscribed....thank you so much
