Had to tune my 1st G string on my Jackson bass guitar up to G before i recorded this so i could be in tune.

Your natural talent is very apparent. You're going to build your skill quickly if you stick with it. Really great job and REALLY great job putting yourself out there for comments and critiques. This is exactly how we get better. Great great job

plus i have just recently finished my guitar lessons too . Before that i wasn't quite sure about how to play the guitar as before that i was just playing on a soprano ukulele. so i played around with different tunings like open tunings, changed my guitar playing style and practiced loads and this was what i came up with.

Awesome bro. Do bass players always pick up. Why aren’t you picking down? I thought maybe because when you use fingers you pluck up. Just wondering.

This will seem like the most unintuitive advice ever, but it does work and improve both skill and self-esteem. Stop looking at your hands. You are essentially trying to teach your hands/fingers distance, that is a physical and mental thing, at no point is it visual. If you were to close your eyes and use your left hand to grab your right ear, I know without a shadow of a doubt you'll get it in one go, but you can't see it. Nor do you need to see the instrument or your fingers in this case. By involving your eyes, it will initially seem like you're making it easier because you can see whether you are doing it right, but you're actually making the learning process slower for your brain because it isn't forced to 'feel' how far your fingers have to stretch, the strength they need to use, there is no feeling or identity attached to individual notes. Simply because you listened to your eyes instead. Your ears will not learn to listen for the right notes either, or at least far slower, and memorizing a song is slowed down as well. Keep at it.
