Unfortunately due to idiots posting stupid, narrow minded, threatening messages towards this video and our city I am now having to 'approve' your comments, but please keep them coming ;-)

We need a band like this in 2024, to wake up the dead world of so called music
Pretentious cack
Absolute icon's.
GENERATION X!!!! The greatest most diversified music era. The last era that thought for themselves and didn't care what another person thought of them.

Funny how Nick Kershaw refers to a “bass” being in the studio with song instructions taped to the top??? This was in fact a Roland Guitar Synthesiser given to Tony James by Mick Jones from The Clash. They were very complicated and Tony James had successfully played bass with Generation X many years earlier! No doubt Mr Kershaw’s ham-fisted guitar work, that didn’t get him the job in Deep Purple that he auditioned for in the mid ‘70’s was due to not knowing a guitar from a bass!!! Arse/ elbow????😂😂😂
You know it's creative when it just confuses everyone. Awesome!
David Wanktick is one of those nobody music writers that made a half arsed career out of shitting on 90% of UK bands, so late 80ies.
Ian MacCullough’s lost weight
I think if someone tried this trick today it might work better
BMX BIKES !
We need them back please !!!
I am thinking, how much money they earn with the song Missile 1111?
I like too the: Falco, Amadeus, Amadeus

Top of the pops was their level ,it suited these fucking frauds.
I loved them when they first appeared. I bought the Sex Bomb Boogie 'VHS single' and didnt realise at the time that, as a naive teenager, what I perceived as a golden bullet on the cover was something else entirely 😂
I bought it, the 12 inch vinyl, the day it was released!!!!
As a fan of Billy Idol and Generation X , I have to get some of Sigue Sigue Sputnik's music!
Huh, I had no idea the 'ads' in Flaunt it were paid advertisers. Personally, I think they are amazing on that record. I love the LoReal spot, "fixing gel strong hold behold...the way you like it...". LOVE that album!!!
They were the last of the hair bands soon to be replaced by the calmer tones of grunge.
I missed this lovely times❤❤❤
I was 12… And we loved it! Saw them on TV in Italy, my friend 14, said to me “come over, there is this really crazy band on TV”!
I love how the whole story of the band can be summed up in six and a half minutes. They got together, made two albums, and lived the rest of their lives perfoming three songs in various forms. Don't get me wrong, I loved SSS for what they were...a wild music experiment from Tony James.
Wow how useless🥱
Locked permanently in cyberspace with no chance of parole.
They were The Monkees- turned inside out. Guts and all.
Loved them brilliant
The only band in the world which came with a Use By date. Aged like milk.
Literally the worst 'band' ever! They weren't hated , or underestimated, or before their time, or misunderstood. They were just talentless and utter shit. And boring. Ok for a fleeting few weeks they conned the music business for a few quid. But that was just exploiting idiots who took a punt on what they thought was the next big thing- but actually turned out to be a momentary puff of marketing without substance (you just had to listen to 15 seconds of any one of their 'songs' to get that!). Just when you think that anyone can control the media, and tell you what you like, SSS stand as living proof of a universal truth that is you cannot polish a turd!!
I bet you like Depeche Mode, except for Speak and Spell which is their only good album ever. Other than that album, that band is poopoo.
Nice to see this again! I watched the hell out of this in 2010 or so when I first watched the Day After my senior year in high school, I played the game Defcon a ton then and I'd always play this song in the background when I was playing it and losing hard (because it's not meant to win in,) lol.
Sure they hyped. But they delivered! Love the 1st 2 albums, along with Ultra Real.
They weren’t really very original, they just took things more underground bands like Cabaret Voltaire, front242 and Throbbing Gristle had already been doing and put it into a pop format for a mainstream audience (front242 had been using delay/reverb on live vocals years before and Deleche Mode’s 3rd album from 1983 used sampled sound on nearly every song and that was pop) alongside the sampling in early hip hop and electro records like The Message, Grand Master Flash and African Bambata . Outside of the music they were pretty ahead of the time regards ‘hype’ but pretty quickly found if you don’t back it with substance it can turn on you pretty fast. Not saying that’s a bad thing, quite an interesting thing to do for the time and beats the market derivative pop music in the charts these days. It was much better than the most of the god awful mainstream chart music of the time) likes of Phil Collins … But geez, those adverts between songs really were annoying as fk - and was only ‘edgy’ for one or two listens before it made the record unlistenable. Tony James was very astute and way ahead of the time in terms of understanding branding, image, advertising, PR and networking and scmoozing the right media heads and selling a unified vision and zeitgeist- much like brands do now where they sell an idea or identity more than an actual product or thing. He combined that with the well worn Malcolm McLaren playbook and all the tricks and tactics of how to sell a band to a record company for a lot of money. The KLF did it but they did it without a record company and did it all themselves with the Time Lords
Saw SSS Electronic at a small gig in Birmingham around 12 years ago and enjoyed getting hammered with Martin, Johann and co at the after party 😂
For some reason they now remind me of early Roxy Music. Sigue Sigue music has aged well because it has not aged. Plus if David Bowie covers one of your songs you must be doing ok.
Yana Ya Ya! 🙂
Love mARGI cLARKE
This group managed to be ignored by the USA.
I NEVER HEARD OF THEM!
Could you call it cyber punk ????
Seen them in Birmingham many years ago stayed after gig with some m8s to have a chat with them . Good fun did not give a fuck .
Sadly, only knew one trick ❤
alan vega anyone ?
I hope they stay in cyberspace.
There isn’t a story. They were shit then and still shit now.
