It was a pleasure meeting David in person at Stories books and Cafe joint. Wow, what a friday night that was! A real pip! I have to say that David Leo Rice looks a lot like my old acquaintances/old friends - from Willenberg CTC (Career Transition Special Education Center) - Jeremy and William Rice, the twin brothers. Recently, in 2020, they moved away, I have not seen them since then. So when I saw David Leo Rice in person a flashing image of Jeremy and William Rice came to mind.

In W.G. Sebald's intro to the English translation of Robert Walser's novel The Tanners, he reports that Walser had commented that he was essentially always writing the same novel, which he described as "a much-chopped up or dismembered Book of Myself." Not sure if that's the source of the quote you mention, but I think it's a good way of thinking about it.

I found you through Blake Butler. I'm very grateful that you show me those interesting People from this special kind of literature scene. Sorry for my bad english. Greets from Bavaria, Germany! Keep on the good work.

Great video! Loved hearing from Yeager, who can be kind of elusive it seems. Also good insights into small presses, definitely have some new books to add to the TBR.

Thanks! There are quite a few podcasts out there wherein I'm interviewed. My favorite recent one is probably with Wake Island. podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wake-island/episodes/CHRIS-ZEISCHEGG-ON-ART-AND-UNBECOMING-e2ha4dg

Only read one book by Blake and have been reading to read others, and had no idea this book existed. If it’s any consolation, I’m grateful for the conversation and look forward to reading ‘Molly’ very much. Blake, I appreciate you going out on a limb and, as you said, sharing this sacred experience with the world.

Great episode to start it off brother! Love that there is another person out there now covering all this shit we’re into. Got turned onto your stuff by the Wake island pod, picked up creation today from a cool store that happened just to ship it in the other day so it was fated it seems. Very keen. Thanks and love from melb Australia.

"It kind of breaks down your capacity to feel joy...which is an incredible artistic acomplishment." Negative Space and Amygdalatropolis got so under my skin that I had to finish them quickly just to put my mind to other things. Yeager is brilliant.
