To answer Ed Begley’s question, the typical EV needs to log between 28,069 and 68,160 miles before netting any environmental benefits. In other words, by killing the EV1, GM may have PREVENTED any environmental gains. The modern argument is that EVs have a HUGE environmental impact during manufacturing when compared to ICE vehicles. That is why it is so important that these vehicles stay on the road and continue to be driven to not only pay off their own carbon footprint, but to finally pay for other vehicles footprints as well. So if you want an EV to truly be green, buy used, and drive it enough to pay off the environmental harm these EV1s did during their creation, as well as their ultimate burial.

I think this was actually a print ad, the creepy music and voice-over are just added by the documentary to demonstrate the effect.

That CEO of GM when they were going through their bankruptcy said that his biggest regret was killing the EV1 program.

Don't you find it interesting the the Rockefeller's, The Founders of exxon mo, a few years ago , agreed Fossil Fuels lead to it affecting climate change... But for decades they knew it did... The chemistry of the battery makes sense that it is a trade off although that still ig would be more of a rec thing than for transportation much less a travel as thatd be bad to be stuck somewhere with no place to charge but yeah the concept of being able to create that is pretty nifty... plus for merely experimenting itd be probably fun to see what it looks like inside or how comfy it is etc for mere recreation purposes or for taking it to go camping for a about a a day or so...

the big question is "now what are the world's oil bandits up to and why did they let Elon Musk and many other car concerns make electric cars" !! almost suddenly, out of nowhere, a huge interest in electric cars arose from all companies, and they cannot all be stopped by the oil bandits! I think something is planned. and that, of course, is to fill even more money the greasy fat asses of these same oil bandits!

Now watching in 2022 as politics have completely shifted and now more or less starting to force E-cars on us (Im ine the USA). To be clear, im not against electric cars at all nor am I against gas...but the politics behind them is mind boggling

I can imagine an alternate future when we had old 80s and 90s cars that were fully electric and had a devoted following. Ngl I like the early and late 90s look of cars even though it may seem plain or ugly to many.
