Mondfest 92 So Far Away
In 1992 myself and a bunch of work colleagues from Swansea did our third charity show at The Mond which is a venue in Clydach a few miles north of Swansea.
And I got to do lead vocals for the first time on a song I love to play to this day. In fact barely 2 hours ago.

In 1992 myself and a bunch of work colleagues from Swansea did our third charity show at The Mond which is a venue in Clydach a few miles north of Swansea. The Timewarp was always popular around Swansea and the Rocky Horror Picture Show was a regular at the theatre in town. Note I'm the one in white on Guitar and backing vocals with the silly hat on.

Great memories 👌
One of the cameramen Sturt Fitzimmons was amazing, he nearly had a good olympic career but ended up carrying a massively heavy camera following them down. he was actually a bit fast for some and i think collided with Tomba? but he was an edinburgh schoolboy who learned and practiced at hillend in Edinburgh like I did. i think i was once in the same Boyd Anderson trphy race as him. he was super cool, tight levis when levis made real jeans and a brilliant skier.
Genial!!!
Giradelli and Tomba absolute Stars!
Thanks for posting this! Loved Ski Sunday as a kid in the 80s growing up in Lancashire, where there was no snow in sight. As an adult I learned to ski in Austria and Kitzbühel is where I now take my kids. Can’t handle the mousetrap though 😂 I like to think this episode planted a seed in my mind that came to fruition twenty years later.
Sehr cool 🎉❤freu mich wenn du meine songs kommentierst 🎉❤🎶🎧⤵️
Atle Skårdal, would win at Kitzbühel the following season ua-cam.com/video/C1t6ZmJLCJ0/v-deo.html

Still get goosebumps when that Human League track comes in behind David Vine's reading of the racers. Beautiful stuff.
Modern computer graphics at the start, but poor David still had to phone his commentary in.
Я о скоростном спуске.
Насколько диапазон технических приемов Марка шире, чем у других спортсменов на тот момент. Многое он делает просто по-другому и намного эффективнее! Браво Марк и спасибо создателям ролика!
The great David Vine…how we miss you sir, and this programme. I loved watching the great skiers of the 1990s - Ortlieb, Heinzer, Alphand, Trinkl, Knauss, Tommy Moe, Girardelli, Tomba, Aamodt, and on the women’s side, Seizinger, Kostner, Wiberg, Kronberger, Wachter, Compagnoni, Picabo Street…magical era for skiing.
I agree, it's more like a travel programme than watching a ski contest, with the presenters , interrupting after every skier with there face ,no wonder Graham bell went to Eurosport and I miss his skiing the course, it's a bit like Martin brundle grid walk when he left BBC.
This was a brilliant programmed for a council estate kid in the 80s. You could watch posh tw@s skiing into trees and falling over and getting airlifted off the mountain, brilliant theme tune and it was even better if you were watching it eating an arctic roll, vienetta or angel delight (pink). No one ever gave a f**k who won because it was always the Austrians.
good old times! brilliant to watch times when myself as a teenager learnt how to ski with the gear old fashioned style:), youngsters nowadays have no clue how hard it was, so much effort put into ...
My stepfather used to religiously subject us to this programme every Sunday, then even before the theme tune had finished, he'd fall asleep! We'd then try to change channels and he'd instantly wake up and say: "I was watching that!" 🤦♂️
hiyaa
Hiya
Badass test pilots on skis!! Awesome generation of racers.
Man, Girardelli was untouchable at his peak.
Can't beat commentary down through the phone! Really adds to the drama.
I think I could do it.
Great programme: I miss Alan Weeks.
Back then, I thought the future still had some hope, although, even then, I was exhausted. It's all been rubbish really. Yep. Can't lie. I'm not interested in anything anymore.
fantastic to see,Tomba was my hero, not taking away from the rest of the guys, thankyou so much for uploading the footages said already,GREAT MEMORIES
The memories...
I cannot agree enough with you all. Sunday, exotic, David Vine, Human League, Lauberhorn, Kitzbuhl, Klammer, Tomba
7:11 Human League. 'Things that dreams are made of' This version is on the album, Love and dancing. Instrumentals of DARE
thanks.... ended up here trying to find out the name of that track!!!😄
11:26 -- GoPro probably blew this guys mind...
And adequate safety .
Thank god we still have Stemmle.
Man I wish they didn't show so little of the track back in the 80's.
They showed the whole thing with a helicopter and a man with a huge camera. It's also a 40 minute show so they can't show every single run in full. It was just highlights.
I loved Sunday nights watching Ski Sunday then getting ready for school back in the 80's!!!!!!!!Happy times!!
Thank you for your upload... I like the 80's races... Please more
David Vine WAS 'Ski Sunday' for me.
Fabulous Sundays commentated by a legend.
