The 10 Minute Olive Board - Will it Sell?
Переглядів 125День тому
Last December I spent ages making a beautiful, live edge, Olive wood serving board. I took it to the Christmas markets and no one even looked at it. So this year I've made another, except this time, I've made it in 10 minutes. Let's see if it sells this time round! #woodworking #diy #diywoodworking #diycrafts #olive #oliveboard #making #maker #homemade #handmade #wood #woodwork #woodworker

Cheers boss, I appreciate it. Took 3 weeks as my lathe died during turning it round. Had to pack it all up, send it back to Axminster who said they'd repair it. Then it was 'damaged in transit' so they sent a brand new one!

I'd love to say it was exquisite planning and measuring... But really it was guess work and pot luck! I did have a fairly decent idea where I'd put each screw but still a lot of luck!

Hold the button down to lock the thread and then turn it with your hand to unlock it. Or buy the milwaukee tool less collar for angle grinders. No extra tools needed to change discs

Too tight to unlock by hand! I did try this for a while but having it loose enough to use my hand lead to the locking disk flying off when I was using it 😬

It's a 5 piece neck through yea, no maple cap though, the wings of the body are oak, neck is ash with a purpleheart fretboard. It's my first attempt at a neck through so there has been some mistakes along the way! All the long format videos are on my channel too if you're interested. Cheers for the comment!

Hey buddy. It wasn't malicious. For shure... I carve wood myself and know how cool it is to see "how you did it?" That's why I suggested it. Your content is too interesting to skip over so quickly. But you're also right... Experiment and test your opinions - just like me, for example. If you like what you do, you will eventually be successful and have a lot of viewership. Good luck.

Thank you for the feedback. I do have these videos in long format on my channel if you are interested. Absolutely unorthodox! Mainly because my tools are either knackered or just beginner budget tools that I've had for years. I tend to push them beyond their limitations and that's when I make mistakes and have to creatively rectify them! Maybe one day I'll learn from my mistakes!

I bought one of the early PRS SE's with tobacco burst solid mahogany with P90's. I took a lot of time and situated a pair of the early Bill Lawrence mini HB's and got the height where I wanted, and made mahogany spacers for in the cavities. I did this for a friend, that i had sold this guitar to. It is one of the best sounding guitars I ever heard. I also bought a 2nd PRS solid mahogany body early Santana model, and with HB's and a trem, I swapped all electronics and put in a set of Epi Burstbuckers, and I like it way more than the stock.

LOL😊 the long, rounded edged files for acrylic nails works really great to knock off fine burrs and rough edges on all types of material, including metal. The nail files come in all levels of grits. Different colors, different grits. There is a slight difference of quality between dollar store and direct from beauty salon supply store. The files also come in rectangular blocks. The files and blocks can be rinsed under H2O and air dried
