How to remove radio 67-72 C10 trucks ##mechanic #chevrolet
Quick video on how to remove the stock radio on 67-72 GM trucks C10 C20. Pretty easy but was doing it anyway so figured I’d make a video on it in case it helps someone out. #restoration #shop #GM #radio #diy #howto #truck

Thanks! Was looking at fences and they cost twice what I paid for my bandsaw. I can whip this up with stuff I already have in the garage.
I seen it a mile off bud
@@BoSs0nE01 “seen it”. Ha.
@@unclebucksprojects1537 "Seen" is the past participle of the verb "see". "Seen" has many meanings, including: To perceive with the eyes To look at or be aware of something through the eyes. For example, "I seen you!"
A dent on a truck is just what a truck do bro
Good job, looks great. But why didn't you send it back and get a new one?
@@fredscarber6653 that was the last one. Only other options was a 8-10 week back order. Which wasn’t an option. So got a discount and repaired.
just the whistle of a long black train 🚂
Why’d you weld that?
to pull the dent out further. then grind down the metal to make it smooth again, repaint
Old school way of dent pulling. I do it with 3"-5" steel coupons and works great for pulling body lines
Looks much better than my truck lol
@@jakebrake4842 took me 18 months to get here. Will post a before and after video once fully completed.
Came out great 👍🏾
Is it hard to do I need to do mine
Loading the bearings is the biggest pain in the butt of the whole process. If I had to do it again I would just buy one honestly. Not super difficult, but very time consuming.
I have a dofferent transmission in my 69 C10. But i cant figure out how to take off the transmission so i can pull the motor out .. ive taken off 3 of the bell housing bolts. But for the life of me i cant see how i can even reach the bolts on the left of the housing... ( Driver side). I dont have a lift or anythig. Its just on jacj stands so i can fit underneath... Do people reach underneath? Or do they drop the truck again off the stands and reach over it. I dont see how its possible for me to reach the ither 3 or 4 bolts...
Smart! I will do the same.
Thank you For The Great Video ❤😊
How do I get the converter off the engine block though
@@RandomGuy010 it doesn’t attack to the block. Should be attached (on engine side) to the flexplate/flywheel by 3 bolts. That flexplate bolts to the backside of the crankshaft.
@@unclebucksprojects1537 Got it off, thanks!
Nooo the broken hood guard made it look like it was sad 😢 :'(
But I thought the barrel part of the hinge should lie outside the edges of the wood?
@@louel9272 all depends on the hinge and piece.
Thats accually a perfect colour for that truck! Nice job.
@@1zingero thank you. VIN correct color.
Nice truck
@@BrandonWolfe-w9g thank you. Has been months and months of work to get it here.
Exactly the "how to" I needed. Thank you
what type of plane is that?
@@pinkeye00 a very old Stanley that was my grandfather’s.
first to second bolt the twists are clockwise, from the second bolt onward the twists are counter clockwise. In this case the tail is supposed to be twisted in the opposite direction, since your pliers don't reverse you need to twist the tail manually, this prevents the wire from coming up over the bolt head.
What I took off my distributor cap as an extra precaution.

this is great! I've been brainstorming on how to make a fence for my new (to me) 14" Craftsman BS, so I'm glad I stumbled on this. Sometimes the simplest design is best. Plus, I've already got some extra bar clamps laying around. Might use extruded alum instead of hardwood though. Thanks for the inspiration!
How is it possible to break your distributor when removing the transmission???
The forward transmission mount is the rear engine mount essentially. If you don’t support the back of the motor (I just put some wood/jack on the oil pan) the motor can tilt back to the point of the distributor hitting/resting on the firewall. Especially tilts back far if fwd engine mounts are blown out. I have kissed the firewall before but never personally broken a distributor.
This is motivation for me!
Nice job thanks man
You’re more of a “cousin” buck. Need more wrinkles to be “uncle”.
Great video
Do you change the stock location fuel filter as well after having this lift pump setup?
Nope. Running stock one still as well. Figured with an LML can’t hurt to have a little extra.
Woo hoo Lincoln electric ❤ nice restoration man 😊
Thanks! Coming along
Nooice work ,,, can't tell until you showed the metal 👍
Where do you get the black block that the vertical solid bar slides into?
can somebody tell me why the frickin fuel tank is big enough for you to cross america???
Oh that’s a sprayer on the back.
Where can I buy these ?
Some Home Depot’s carry them. Or online. They are Milwaukee in case it’s hard to see in the video.
@@unclebucksprojects1537how’s the grip level ?
They grip well and have great “feel” for how tough they are.
Nice job god bless
I’m replacing my air dog filters and the stock fuel filter, do I need to add fuel to the filters or can I just use the air dog to prime everything?
I have never primed the AirDogs. Just throw them on. I only prime the stock one.
Huh. This popped up on my feed, just as I'm heading outside to complete my 1st install; 2016 F150 Platinum FX4 4dr 5.0L (modified 😜)
Good luck. Mine are still going strong even with heavy use.
Buck, I have a heavy boat hatch that I had to remove to repair the fiberglass on it. The piano hinge rests in the deck. When installed, the hatch folds into the cut out of the deck. It seems like I’ve got to somehow suspend the hatch verticallyand work from under the deck to put about 20 screws into the hatch. Any ideas?
Yes have done that before (carpet wrapped wood and fiberglass). In both cases I mounted the hinge to the deck/boat first then used a blind hole finder to mark 3 holes on the inside of the hatch. Then tested spacing when shut once those three fasteners were installed. Then put in. I have not tried it personally, but thought double sided tape would work as well. Meaning install hinge on boat side, then shut hinge to closed position, then install double sided tape, then place hatch on top of tape. Then gently open and mark some test holes. Again haven’t tried the tape method myself (only hole finder method) but that was my backup plan if the hole finder didn’t work.
@@unclebucksprojects1537 thanks, I’ll give it a try!!

Nice tiedown chain!!!😅
Hahah. Thanks. Most people have no idea what that is.
Would you recommend these even if you do not tow
I have great luck with them all around towing or not. No squealing at all and stop really well.
Thanks for the feedback
Great video, how did you keep fuel from continuously pouring out?
It just doesn’t 🤷🏻♂️. I used to always clamp it. Then one time decided to try it without clamping, and none came out. So just removed that step, and have done it this way ever since.
Nice I got one too..
Have you ever heard of any one double stacking the small bushing you used with 10mm socket to press in. I had a friend suggest this if after replacing everything and still have leak.
Interesting, Have never seen that tried. I don’t know if that added thickness would affect the gear grabbing.
Awesome and thanks for sharing it!
What does it do? I’m a young buck lol 😂
Carving mallet or light joiners mallet as far as I know.
