Forever Campervan Adventures
United Kingdom
Приєднався 30 сер 2015
Always and Forever is something that I still think about daily (if you know, you know) lol but this is where hopefully I can carry on with plans and adventures that were started way back in 2016, I was introduced to so many first's back then and walking Thursdays started my love of walking, walking has now become a huge part of my life and the biggest thing to help with my head, plastic surgery would help but walking helps the little brain I have and helps turn it off from time to time
We need to make time for ourselves and do what makes us happy, a very special person taught me that, hopefully I can build the van that has been so long it getting here and I can carry on making Forever Memories and continue with some great adventures, thank you so much for stopping by

Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan Build 15 Wiring The Mains Electric Board
Переглядів 31821 день тому
Lots of little jobs going and not had time to film them, with finally fitting the solar panel and getting the wires in it was time to start making up the board, a simple job turned into a big job once my OCD kicked in, the fuses are there for the wires to go to and need sizing properly before connecting to the battery

Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan Build 10 Water Fill & Mains Electric Hookup
Переглядів 1,4 тис.5 місяців тому
Today we are cutting more holes in the van to install water filler and mains hookup for the electrics, I am glad I decided to do this job as you sharp eyed people will have noticed water when I took the insulation out, this has come in from the trim clips and would have gone unnoticed, I have sealed around these and sprayed the whole area with wax oil, luckily it was just in this one area

Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan Build 07 Making Ply Panels

I had the roof fitted at Altitude Roofs in Par Cornwall, from start to finish I cannot recommend them enough, from my first contact to picking the van up it was excellent service, one less thing I had to worry about and it now means I can crack on with the rest of the work

Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan Build Intro
You only need 1 window in a Vivaro..in the sliding door....obvious;y remove the bulkhead.
You can never have enough windows lol
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures Windows, cold in the winter, greenhouse in the summer. Condensation overnight. My Vivaro is cool in the summer, cosy in the winter....within reason, of course. Enough light too, I have 2 and keep one covered up.
@@allanb52 your right about the temperature increase and decrease, it has enough ventilation and being able to see more is worth the negatives, the thing I love about building cars or vans is we all have our own ideas and build stuff to what fits our needs
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures See more what? We recently parked in the Pyrenees ski resort and parked front on to the main mountain view. We spend a lot of time outside, with an awning if needs be. I don't want to sit inside peering through steamed up windows. If you take your greenhouse to Europe you will bake.
Nice build mate looking good
Thanks for the comment and its taking longer than I first thought lol
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures a good job always does but once it's done you will have something that's great well worth it
Too much waffle not enough action!
I did warn everyone on the thumbnail
Why convert??? Just buy a pop top plenty on the market. You'd be up and away in no time.
Your right but where would the fun be in that and this way you get the van you want not built the way someone else wanted, and I have to waste time and money on something
Hi I am converting a van. Thanks for the videos :)
All the best with the conversion and thank you so much for you comment, I need to get some more work done on mine
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures No problem and thanks. :)
Chasing lady boys again 😂🤣😂🤣
Haha Im too old for that I wouldn't be able to catch them if I tried, not that Im trying
What's the food like on remand 👍🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Probably a lot better than I’m eating at the moment
Nice one .. keep it up 👍
Thanks Steve
The vans looking good 👍 I went to lithium and TBH the biggest thing I noticed was the speed it charged, they don't need absorbing for hours so charge a lot quicker, I can't commit on how much is enough, all I know is 280AH is too much for me 😂 I've never managed to get below 82% 👌 I have 400W on the roof and it's more than enough to charge the house battery, then it charges the starter battery, I run a12v fridge 24/7, 365 days a year and a 4 cam CCTV just to give it something to do 😂
Thanks for that I forgot about the charge rate, it would make a massive difference and I’m thinking I will be ok with 110ah one plus I don’t have as much room as you so the bigger the battery the more space I need
@Forever_Campervan_Adventures 100Ah LFP is the equivalent of 200Ah of SLA so plenty for weekends away, unless you have an inverter larger than 1000W I recon you'll be fine and if you decide you want more it's no issue adding another later on, it can be a different size or make, it doesn't matter 👍
@@Dirt-Diggler thank you again for your input and your right it’s easy to add another if need be
I don't own a motorhome , we have a static caravan but I am really enjoying your nvideos . Best of luck to you
Thanks very much Anthony and I’m glad your enjoying the build
I built the van 8 years ago and am just thinking about a water filler. The trouble is I have an upright tank and the reinforcement bar is quite low...and water doesn't flow uphill. Bugga. So maybe I need a proper water tank.
There is always something that gets in the way lol
Personally this is one job I wouldn't do myself, cost/hassle isn't worth it and two windows is plenty, they are heat transfer black spots. I have to say yours do look good, but no for me, I keep the driver's side covered anyway so only use one. I had a T3 and years ago put 4 windows in, not enjoyable, getting the rubbers and plastics in was a right b'stard, bonding them in is better.....anyway nice job lads.
If you haven’t done them before you can hit problems, I’ve done a few now so not too bad
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures I have never done a bonded one, just that T3. But we only had two done windows in the Vivaro and the cost was £20 each, we had no workshop at the time and the UK has such crap weather. The rest of the conversion was easy, a bought-in R&R bed, off the shelf furniture, Smev and seat swivel. No addition electrics, just 2 12v circuits. Easy. Great van the Vivaro, if unfashionable, like me.
At that price it’s not worth doing yourself, it’s great building outside in the UK haha
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures Rain-man eh? Are you currently building?
Hopefully back on with it this weekend
I am a new follower of your channel(nr:181) Greetings from Sweden 😊
Thank you so much for subscribing and hello Sweden
I didn’t want to add them to my conversion either but like you I’m starting to think they might be a good idea. Where did you get them from? Quality looks good
They are good quality and I got them from Camper Interiors
Nightmare without a garage or unit of some sort innit ... Keep up the good work 👍
Hopefully the weather will be getting good better soon lol
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures hope so can crack on with mine then 😂
Nice top. I've got Renault trafic 2019 lwb. I've put my awning rail on back the channel. So it's covered by top when closed. Little bit more awkward to start getting kador strip in. Have to stand on stool.. But only few seconds. When it's started in rail. Just pull it along then
That sounds like a nice discreet way of fitting it, I have used mine to fit extra brackets for the Fiamma 45s to sit on, I keep meaning to do a quick video of the outside but waiting for better weather
Keep up the good work 👍
Cheers Steve hopefully I will be back on with it soon
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures I know the feeling buddy 👍
Nowt wrong with the vid, it is what it is, progress 👍 Looking forward to seeing the units 😎
Cheers for the comment and we to do the rubbish jobs to get to the good jobs
Nicely done and looking good 👍
Thank you so much
Well done! The carpet lining looks great. New follower here looking forward to following the progress 👍
Thank you for the comment and thank you for following, I hope you enjoy
It was the “how not to do it” so I wondered whether what you did was the correct way? I’m a newby btw x
The comment on how not to do it is because I didn’t cut enough off the roll and left myself short, the rest is pretty how it’s done but always make sure you have enough material to do the full side or if you can leave it on the roll, thank you so much for your comment, and I’m still learning
Totally confusing!
In what way?
That is looking nice! I'm toying with the idea of a popup in my van. I've got a very small Nissan NV200 and there is no headroom at all. It's a large investment though and I'm a cheapskate! 😁
Thanks for the comment and subscribing, I know what you mean about investment but for me being able to stand up makes it better for longer trips, the cost of everything is going up and up all the time, I have got a bit carried away lol
Hi can I just ask what the bed board is made of, and thickness? Thank you.
Hi Martin it’s made out of 18mm marine ply but the 7 layer version
Hi,thanks for replying. Does it bow at all when lying on it? Thank you again, Martin.
@@martinleigh66 no mate if you get the ply with more layers it’s really strong
Check your bed board settings mate looking at it when you pull it down it is not coming down true if that makes sense. Cheers Alan.
Thanks Alan I will take a look, it could be operator error
starting to look good! Well done!
Thank you so much but it’s taking longer than I first thought, or I’m just slower than I used to be
@@Forever_Campervan_Adventures I am definitely the latter lolol x
Is that swinton where u are pal ? Near the Cat ?
No idea where that is mate
Print bord is a better solution and thin aluplateis even much better, in "Volvo Laplander Camper" walls are in 3mm printboard camperdoor and cabine door are in thin aluplate 1,5mm so they not can be damage off water or moist. If i should build new camper today I probebly use alu on all place it isolite and also reflect back your heat and also in summer keep heat out. I have also a camper /housboat all build in alu and that stay cold inside in hot summer so alu is very effectiv.
That’s great advice and thank you so much for sharing, I had to use what I had available but I will try and find print board
hi mate it's coming along nicely good idea is the backing paper keep plodding on and it will all come good
Cheers Lee
Thanks for the videos. Ive just stated my vivaro so this really helps. Im pretty handy but this just gives me a bit of confidence so thanks very much.
Thanks for the comment and I’m sure you’ll do a great job on your van, I’m still learning as I go
Hi, what camera are you using? Cheers.
Its a iPhone 13 on a insta360 flow gimble

Thanks very much for your comment and hello Australia glad you could join us
Hi really looking forward to see how it all turns out...then ill make my mind up as to trying myself 👍
Thanks for watching and now the pressure is on, I think you should go for it
Handy being in 2 parts, they aint heavy but bloody unwieldy 👍
It did make it a lot easier
Exactly the same as my van I just bought to convert mate
They are a great van, I’m really happy with mine and just ticking off all the little jobs, good luck with your build
I built my ambulance camper in the road on a housing estate so i know what you meen about interruptions 🤣 Most of the YT commenters who harp on about PPE have never lifted a tool in their life ! You be you 👍 P.S my build is 3 years in and never passes 90% it gets close then i change sumink 😂
Thanks for the support and hopefully it will be finished by spring lol
Looking forward to following the build 👍 Loved the pop 😎👌😎 the hotrod of my childhood, I had 3 mates who's Dad's were building Ford pops back in the 80s and i know somone who runs one at the mo with a 1600 XF👍 Good luck with the build 👍
