Nothing will go wrong with this Glock. He could run it dry with zero lube and there would be zero malfunctions. Glocks are the only replacement for revolvers in terms of reliability. In my opinion at least. He made an amazing carry choice. And in 10 years he’ll probably still be carrying his Glock. I bought a used G26 for ~300 bucks. If I carried a revolver, it would be a j frame or an LCR, both of which, even used, would be more than my glock. A brand new Taurus or Charter Arms would both be more expensive and probably not as reliable. Not to mention how expensive .38 is vs 9mm. I’ve always loved revolvers. The first gun I fell in love with is an SP101. That said, there’s plenty reasons to choose a g26 over a revolver.

That traditional Buck 110 is $65 now with the 420hc blade steel. It comes with a decent Mexican made black leather sheath. (Mexico is known for their quality leather products.) However, your tan sheath is from Buck's custom shop & USA made. I recently ordered a custom 110 & that sheath was only an additional $10. I have your knife, but I quickly grew frustrated with how that 420hc steel wouldn't hold a sharp edge. I was only cutting boxes open & doing food prep with it, & I had to sharpen almost after each use. That's why I ordered the custom with a Magnacut blade. A 63 Rockwell hardness blade should handle a tomato nicely & not be an attention whore. Enjoy your Buck. It's a legend!

My thoughts are that you don't know how to carry the bag and it's affecting your judgment. Try this, forget about wearing it like a moab 10 or 8 or a maxpedition slingbag, instead orient the bag so that the comms pouch is under your left or right elbow, it will be sideways on your back at your lumbar, when you pull it to your front it will be upright. This is the way to carry this bag, 5.11's videos on the bag mislead buyers by the way the model wears the bag. I've owned and worn this bag daily for work carrying tools to pack and move furniture for years with tape gun, carry straps small tool kit and lunch, and also as a quick trip to the corner store for years with almost zero wear, it's a little softer now but still looks great.

@Starkwolf88 happy to help. There is also a minority of people who remove the comms pouch, or even the entire padded portion of the strap and use a different strap set up entirely, it's easy to install a set of D rings on either side of the carry handle and buy a 2"wide strap with snap hooks...but then you can't reverse that modification. I think it's maybe time to make a video to show the mods I made to the bag and the method of carry I use primarily, it may be easier to refer people to the video than to explain it in writing on every moab 6 video I watch.
