      That’s a nice touch. I’ve been looking at the walnut versions that have recently become available. All wood and metal is a huge bonus for me especially at the lower price point. Even on many of the higher end autoloaders (benelli, beretta, browning, etc) trigger guards are all plastic.

      @@pyrate_nz Yeah primers and price are the main problem over here as well. I also lean towards heavy pills and fast twists although I don't own a chronograph or have much to do with computers as I objected to being told in my younger days that my wheelchair meant my future was computers and office jobs. Now everything I wanted to do in life is computerized LoL. I'm currently working on loads for when I can get back to the range try my new.223 with a 1:8 twist for targets and game. How does this work.. if water isn’t a lubricant and therefore extra moisture is being added to the barrel.. the only way I see this working is for the clearing of gasses in the barrel 🤷‍♂️

    • @pyrate_nz

    • @pyrate_nz

      That will depend a bit on ammo and if you have a suppressor or not. For my hand loads and suppressor around 20 rounds. Going to depend on how quickly you shoot them too. Mine does not shift enough to even worry about.

      @pyrate_nz 2 місяці тому

      thats interesting. so did a quick google your barrel tapers down to 18mm. the tikka tapers to 20mm at the muzzel. so no substantial diffrence. i shoot 5 shot groups regularly as part of my training. i looked at the groups from last time. diffrence between 1st and 4th group (total 20rds) poi shifted 0.12MOA and group incresed about that same. after that i take a break, change targets etc. some barrels are better than others. my 308 tikka CTR (same barrel contour) behaves almost the same

    • @DeweiJiang
      @DeweiJiang 2 місяці тому

      @@pyrate_nz Thanks for spending time to dig into this matter. Recently I can push the Match ammo accuracy to 0.75 moa and hand load to 0.6 moa, and the last time I fired 20 rounds of 2 rounds per min was a year ago. Maybe my fundamentals were not as good at the time, I will go to the gun range this weekend and reconfirm my claim.

    • @DeweiJiang
      @DeweiJiang 8 днів тому

      Just an update. Recently I was able to push it to 0.47 moa with factory ammo. Did 3 rounds per min firing rate, and the group start open up and shifting vertically after 12-15 rounds. Some of it could be shooter error too.
