Amtrak ‘Pepsi Can’ heritage unit leads the California Zephyr down Coal Creek Canyon
On June 22nd, Amtraks relatively new ‘Pepsi Can’ heritage unit was leading the California Zephyr. This was one of the first times this locomotive made it out west and one of the first times this summer I was catching a train. Unfortunately, the lighting died right as the train was descending down Coal Creek Canyon but it still made for a cool sight!

Railroad action on the Moffat Tunnel Subdivision, passenger special, meets and more
Переглядів 6512 роки тому
Over the course of the fall of 2021 I made 2 trips out to Colorado for various breaks and decided to hit the Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. We start off on October 12th a little west of Rollinsville. A Union Pacific coal was creeping down the mountain in shot one before meeting the westbound California Zephyr at Pinecliffe. After that a westbound oil train bound for the Utah railway sneaks up on me...
Slow Morning on BNSF's Brush subdivsion
Переглядів 952 роки тому
on December 16th, 2021 I visited BNSF's Brush Subdivision for some action. It started off with a pretty short stack train which ended up waiting at Barr for 30 some minutes because of the Hudson turn. Train 2 was the Hudson turn which I caught at Barr and Toneville meeting another coal. After getting the coal at 168th I waited for another one right behind it to finish off the short morning! Enjoy!
Norfolk Southern 8076 leads a manifest through Boulder, Colorado
Переглядів 1572 роки тому
On December 12th, 2021, Norfolk Southern 8076 led the Denver - Laurel manifest up the front range subdivision. 2 days prior this train was expected to leave until it was pulled off at Broomfield siding due to a lack of crews. Here we see the train at 55th street in Boulder, Colorado, which is unfortunately now a quiet zone. Sorry for the lack of uploads this fall, my first semester of college h...
Railfanning the BNSF Brush Subdivision ft. the boys
Переглядів 1543 роки тому
On July, 20th, 2021 me, Longmont, Railway, Longmont Railfan, Colorado Railfanner, Plyingkibbles89, Hector Canales Photography, Colorado Railfan and Rockymoutainrailfanning hit the brush subdivision. I started off a little latter than some but the first train I caught was a MACe led coal train. After that the Hudson turn cruised by with a good horn show. Next a PASBAR, followed by that same MACe...
Local trains around Denver, Colorado
Переглядів 1393 роки тому
On February 12th, 2021 I set out into Denver to catch some local action. I started the day off in Commerce City, an industrial town north of Denver. To my surprise I found 2 BNSF SD40-2s doing some switching of some tank cars. The lead SD40-2 #1993 is a former Colorado and Southern locomotive and #1746 is a former ATSF Bluebonnet locomotive. They made for quite the pair. After that I caught Den...
Amtrak's California Zephyr climbing the Colorado Front Range
Переглядів 2153 роки тому
Over the dates of May 25th and June 2nd I caught Amtrak's California Zephyr climbing Colorado's Front Range. Spot 1 started off at the commonly shot Leyden siding, the first siding outside of Denver. Also sitting at Leyden was BNSF's Provo to Denver manifest. Next we hit a spot right above Tunnel 1. The Amtrak train made quite the noise coming through and was quickly followed a Union Pacific po...
Super Rare BNSF Powermove ft. Warbonnets, Fakebonnets, Heritage 1s and 6111
Переглядів 2053 роки тому
On February 20th BNSF ran a mega powermove through Denver, Colorado. The powermove was pulling a lot of GE units out of storage consisting of Warbonnets, Fakebonnets and Heritage1s. I would catch the train at the overpass of the Brush Subdivision and the Union Pacific Belt Line. After that I headed north and caught BNSF 6111 trailing on a LINDEN! Enjoy!
Union Pacific trains at Archer Hill and Beyond
Переглядів 2093 роки тому
On June 22nd, 2021 me and fellow railfan @Longmont Railfan headed up to Cheyenne, Wyoming to catch some trains. We started off a little west of Archer Hill at a small rural crossing where we caught a mixed freight. We then moved to Archer Hill catching a Z train and 2 mixed freight. To end off the day we got a final mixed freight at the C&S bridge in Cheyenne. Enjoy
Rare BNSF Action on the Front Range Subdivision
Переглядів 1163 роки тому
Over the summer I got a few pretty cool trains here on the Front Range Subdivision. To start off a bare-table train which isn't interesting besides the great horn show it gave thanks to me and fellow railfan Louisville_Railfan. After that a ballast train came through with a beautiful 1st Gen K5HL. Next a Pinwheel mac led the Cheyenne local. And to end off the video a overpowered DENLAU through ...

Chasing Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 from Cheyenne, WY to Sidney, NE
Переглядів 2863 роки тому
On August 5th 2021, Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 started off on its journey to New Orleans, LA. The first day consisted of the train going from Cheyenne, WY to Sidney, NE. We started off at the famous Archer Hill, where 4014 made quite the show up the grade. Next we caught it at Burns, WY, coming into Pine Bluffs and just outside Pine Bluffs. After that a curve near Bushnell, stopping at Kimball ...

Here’s a quick video of 2 Union Pacific SD70Ms leading a local at 124th Ave in Brighton, Colorado. This local is most likely the local from LaSalle to Denver. Thanks for watching
BNSF 25th Anniversary locomotive 5869 leads on the Front Range Subdivision
Переглядів 1653 роки тому
On July 25th :) 2021, BNSF 5869 led the H-LAUDEN manifest down the front range subdivision. Unfortunately I would be at work when the train would be passing my hometown of Louisville. Then due to some issues with the H-DENLAU the train LAUDEN would be forced to sit in Broomfield for an hour. This gave me enough time to catch both trains which both had incredible lashups. Enjoy
Rocky Mountaineer Test Train in Colorado and BNSF Denver-Provo climbs Tunnel 1
Переглядів 9313 роки тому
On July 13th, Rocky Mountaineer was running another test run on the Moffat subdivision. This time a eastbound run into Denver. Before that would pass though, the BNSF Denver to Provo manifest was going westbound with a heavy load. The train was 3x2 fashion and was working hard in the canyon. Shortly after that the Rocky Mountaineer headed down and canyon. To end it off I got a going away shot o...

How rare I never seen something like this in Broomfeild
I seen a train couple to cars like that but instead only bnsf gp trains h3 and there were only centerbeems and boxcars
I have also chased one at that exact place but it’s going the opposite
I love seeing Living History. And it is aesthetically pleasing - a beauty in every way. Thank you for the inforrmation. Blessed you loved your job.
Luckiest kid ever
That Has Got To Be The Coolest Amtrak Consist Ever!
Aren’t the F40PH NPCU supposed to be leading to Chicago? Why did I see him leading to Milwaukee.
Now that’s a voice I miss 😪 7:42
what train was this? what state? beautiful place I would love to visit
Won of the worst videos we have watched in eons.
It accelerated quickly after leaving the crossing 🛤️🚧
I have been blessed to be the conductor on this train since 2012. A lot of railroaders don’t like this train and the high profile it brings to the railroad. I for one have enjoyed riding on her she is the pride of the fleet and represents our history. While we weren’t expecting what happened to happen on this day. We had 2 other very close calls. One at Carr and one just north of Platteville. We love seeing all the people that come out to see her go bye. We just ask that you stay well clear of the tracks and enjoy her beauty and power. It’s disappointing that no other business has stepped up to continue this fine tradition since the Denver post was sold.
I know maybe one day
Hoping 🙏
Awesome catch!
At the end, those aren’t private cars. Those are cars for an inspection. You could say there’s private cars but that’s a inspection! Awesome lashup and catch!!
3:01 Crossings activate 4:32 Amtrak business cars
Bro was hauling as
Nice catch
Wow super RARE
Wooha Alright, 0:19
What is the location?😊
dang that's rare usually don't see those electric locomotives with a regular train. AND 3 special carts at the end
I rode in the Ocean View car at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad on the return trip to Cumberland after riding in #1309's cab up to Frostburg.
Was this on the FRS?
Just curious, does anyone know the reason for the view-blocking wall beside the track from 17:34 to 18:14? It appears to be blocking views of a sewage treatment plant and oil refinery, which doesn't seem like something that would have either secrecy or privacy concerns.
Lindo viaje en tren y lindos paisajes
4 engines 14 passengers
its actually a K5HA well K4HA now cuz one of the bells is missing
Yea nice catch catching this long distance train with Sara heritage unit leading
Amazing
Those are sand or salt hoppers not grain
Did they run out of gas? 😂
It’s to loud
Don’t whistle
THAT E BELL IS AWSOME 😄😄😄😄😄
Yes! I like it too. That's because it got rebuilt!
I'm a bit late, but great catch! It is so cool seeing the train approach from a far distance before it gets close, and that shot is beautiful!
How’s the ride?
UP manifest X310 goes into emergency for the second time at Arvada CO!
one of the first railfaning videos i watched
Enjoy those steamers should be using them today with the joey diesel fuel shortage. Thanks like to follow anything doing with steam powered engines!
Yo that is coooool
ACS64 is not a Diesel Locomotive
That was the last Cheyenne Frontier Days special before cancelation!
We still have at least two on the BR&W, along with an SW1200 and SW1500
Adding that diesel is a new thing. They didn 't used to do that. IMO it looks way better without. I remember hearing about back 10 - 15 years ago she was heading home and came up behind a stalled out UP freight train that was waiting on another diesel to help tow it in. Well the engineer tells dispatch they will "take it from here" couples to the last car, pours on the steam and pushes that train across the plains into the railryard. Plenty of steam whisting along the way. Until 844 came over the horizon and gave a long blast on her whistle the crew of the freight train thought they were getting "rescued" by just another UP freight train.
Luxury Train Presidencial
When I worked at the GWR, I ran the 4327 a lot. Even though she was only 1800hp. She was pulling beast and 24L air (lap air).
I do this for a living it takes about 4200 gallons to fill a train. Depending how much fuel is in the train it takes about 15-30 mins for the entire process. Its crazy to see these trains up close.
Velocity Rail? Of course it was Savage at this time until A. Stucki came in.
@@universalenergy2311is the pay good thinking about applying
Yes i know it aslo was super fast
The crossing is located on Blue Mountain Drive near Arvada, Colorado
I remember when I first saw this. I've loved it ever sense!!
