BMW R1200C - New exhaust wrap
Переглядів 1,5 тис.7 років тому
Newly installed fiber exhaust wrap. Still steaming from being soaked overnight. Looks the business as is subtle but cool. The rattling is coming from the exhaust and is a pretty common fault on this bikes. This is a 1999 example with 44K on the clock and running sweet as a nut!

Best bike i ever rode...is my everyday bike
Thankuuu bro ❤️🔥✌️
its instrument cluste failure from time to time.
Just came across your great review. Do you still own this bike? And if you do are you still happy with it? Looking at one exactly like yours and need to make a decision. Cheers.
Hey there. I do still have it and I do still love it! I'll be making another review later this summer. I honestly believe this is one the best bikes for the money out there... I don't think I'll ever sell it.
@@marciofilho3222 I’m so tempted to to buy it now. Going for 3300£ with 42k miles. Thanks again!
Mine has 51K and goes as well as when I got it. Good tires are key, though. Get the best tires u can afford.
Brilliant! Because I just bought one for the rear 👍 cheers for the review.
This or the RS
Ciao, potrei per favore avere delle info riguardo ai paramani che hai adattato? Grazie
They r from a 2010 GS
@@marciofilho3222 ok grazie ma tutte le minuterie dove le hai prese?
Some amazing bikes there - thanks for uploading this pal 👍
Nice review. I tried one yesterday (2010 base model with 40000km). The suspensions were among the best I've ever tried, super smooth. The transmission was rough at best, it was hard to downshift in 1st gear. When leaving from a stop I could feel kind of a clunk, the owner said it was normal because of the dry clutch, but I certainly didn't have that on my R9T. Engine was nice, fun character, decent sound with aftermarket exhaust. At 6'1" the seat angle was bad even after 5 minutes. All in all, great bike, just didn't click for me. Not to mention the opposing indicator buttons which are not a good idea when you have multiple bikes, having all buttons at the same place is the way to go (and all buttons looked dried up and bike had been mostly kept under a cover).
I got a set from Revzilla a year ago. I have not placed them on yet but I will soon. I have a 2018 Supersport Honda CBR1000RR.
U gonna like it. Great tyre. Ride safe!
Marcio Filho Thank you bro. 🙏😊
i have these on my bike and i seem to be getting a load of road noise coming from the front, apart from that they good tyres
Called it right. Bought one after reading your review. 8 k later it's a gem. Got mine with 50k. And God yes you are so right about the visor. Earplugs or deafness.
Bought a set from I believe the last batch i..DOT 27/21..they have been the best tires I have owned, my bike is a 02 FZS-1000 a little heavier than a super sport and these seem to be the right choice, other than needing a little warm up, I broke the rear loose in 3rd at about 50 mph and fishtailed a bit, my pilot power tires previously never did that, once warmed up they grip and handle fantastic, balancing hardly required .25 oz..excellent tires
Thanks for the review 👍🏻 Love the accent
Great review. I also own a 1200 R. I concur on all salient points except the vibration comment. It is not annoying from my perspective.....character is the right term.
Good point. I find myself trying to justify selling the bike but, every time I look around there is simply nothing as cool, powerful and versatile for the money. Even if I won the lottery (not that I play) I'd keep it. I am planning on doing a few modifications when I have the resources: Wunderlinch trophy fairing with the tall screen, taller bar risers and maybe upgrade the rear suspension for a plusher rider. But I guess this is part of loving what you have rather than always wishing for more.
@@marciofilho3222 l am about 60 bikes into my ownership history. For me personally, the R1200R is in the top 5 for sure.
I’m pretty impressed, have them mounted on a CBR1100XX. The bike came with them and I’ve racked 2,500 miles on them with some fun twisty runs, interstate, 160MPH, riding in the rain. Awesome budget tire! Think I’ll likely get the Dunlop RoadSport II’s or Michelin Road 6 GT’s next and continue working on reducing weight on the big bird.
Hello, thanks for review!!! Are you sure, about 260miles with one tank??
Smotan si ko kurac...jedva si upalio motor
Awesome looking bikes….
Front tyre tread pattern is wrong way round. I wonder why Michelin do this? That isnt efficient for water clearing but Im sure they have thier reasons.

I can buy this bike locally for $4600 USD, same color actually (which I love). I'm in the market for something upright and comfortable for highway and cruising, no desire for off road. This model an generation seem to hit a real sweet spot in the used market right now for value and performance and enjoyment.
Great review buddy very helpful. Got an alpine white one locally here with reasonable miles and condition for only $4600. I think he would take $4000 it's been listed for a while. Crazy value at the moment. You cannot even get a Gen 2 V-strom for this price.
I've had it for nearly 4 years and at the moment it lives with me in Sweden... I rode it and imported from the UK in 2019 - that's how much I like it. I am determined to keep it at least until 2030. I simply cannot justify buying something else. This bike does everything extraordinary well and it is the best compromise between safety and old school riding. It is supremely comfortable for a naked and always makes me feel special. Highly recommend. 💪
@@marciofilho3222 It ticks a lot of boxes. I am comparing my options here looking at this bike and Vstrom, F700GS, etc. I want something mostly upright and comfortable with definite interstate highway capabilities. We need to do 80mph in flow of traffic here on huge 5 lane highway in California. It is a major safety concern. Sportbikes, for this reason, surprisingly are very good on the highway but are terrible at everything else. So anyways really appreciate your videos and I can tell it's all coming from a guy like me chilling with your Corona in the driveway talking about your bike! haha!
Massively underated machine!
@@jpc2528 And since I posted this, I haven't seen a single one listed for under $7-8k. They are GONE.
i am here cause i am about to be tempted to buy this bike for $6.2k with 40k mileages without my wife approval.
Seems pricey.... But they r great bikes. U gonna love it.
They haven't stopped making them - I got a set on my bike with a 2020 DOT.
My Ducati 748 has had them since 2013, only seen about 600 miles. Bike's been stored for so long (3 yesrs) and I just took her out, I was thinking of replacing them but hell no, they are grippy, soft, very healthy like new lol no flat spot even. Wild. Going for S22 next.
Hi m very nice review!! And very nice bike. I myself have a R850r And looking for hand guards . What brand are installed in your motor bike? Thanks for reply. :)
These are original GS handguards... They r great.
@@marciofilho3222 Hi Marcio , thank you for reply . Is there a special type GS 650 800 or 1200 ? Thank you for your reply. :) Appreciated
There fooked lol
Where did you buy thr handguards and how much they cost? Which brand are they?
Those r original GS handguards. Also 2010.... U can find them second hand on eBay.
@@marciofilho3222 thanks
I have the same set on my drz400 supermoto, I just hit 12,000 miles and they still have a bit of life left. Front one has at least 3k more to go, back one is starting to get squared out, still has some tread tho. I'm impressed, I'll buy them again when I go to swap them
En España todavía se vende y además recién fabricados por que se fabrican aquí made in spain
I just found your vlog and need to comment that you did a great job on the description and information. These bikes are underrated indeed. No major problems with mine other than regular maintenance. Loved your, four-legged child, sitting next to you there too! thanks for sharing!
Hi there! I have a 2016 R 1200 RS using the same spoiler screen like you. Indeed I also have no wind pressure nor noise on my helmet. This little thing works fabulously. On ebay I just paid 13.-EUR for it. Though owning a 2016 model my gear box is a bit clunky, too. Watch your oil level. I filled it up from 50% to 2/3 to the max and it became a bit less clunky. On my RS there are no vibrations. I had a 1980 R 65 long ago and it was the same and never ever had any problems.
Have to agree with the fuel economy, easy to get 250+ out of this bike, that alone is excellent. Loving my R1200R.
FYI PR2 are still made. Just got rear tire last Saturday, was manufactured in March 2021.
My K27 comes next week...thanks for the info Marcio...helpful....nice one
Хороший обзор
Thanks, helped a lot. Go well!
Just bought Piolet 2 for my Honda Hornet 919F
Where did you get the bar risers please?
www.wunderlich.de/en/ They r not cheap but work v well. Made the bike much more comfortable!
@@marciofilho3222 Thank you I will certainly get a beer
great review, what bash plate is on it have same bike not sure which one fits
Thanks dude. I believe it is the same used for the GS.
Awesome review
Front is wrong way
Yep i noticed that too!!
No, it is not. I just got them, and the arrow is clearly pointing that way
Got them on my bike and are the same as in the video with the arrow pointing correct way
what brand is your top case bracket/holder?
Hey, my top case is a £50 very basic Givi. Works really well...
They are still making them 2020
Also found that with my tire retailer. Was originally going with the Pilot 5, but ended up with the pilot road 2, since its a lot cheaper and mileage seems to be similar
The front is mounted in the opposite direction from the rear. I just mounted a 120/70/17 Pilot street on the front of my Ninja 650. I noted that the sidewall information shows the direction that the tyre should be mounted. If mounted on the front then the tread pattern faces the opposite way from the rear , the same way you mounted them. If however the 120/70/17 is rear mounted then it's fitted in the opposite direction. If you view your video , then you can clearly see the tread patterns are in the opposite direction.
Thanks for a great review Marcio.
Thanks for the review buddy! I believe im going to pick a set of these up for myself.
I am drinking a Corona and just played your video:))) Cheers!
Thanks, excellent straight forward review, no BS.
