ΠΠ΅ΡΠ΅Π³Π»ΡΠ΄ΡΠ² 13 ΡΠΈΡ.4 ΡΠΎΠΊΠΈ ΡΠΎΠΌΡ
Hey guys π In this video I want to show you my process of repotting my monstera deliciosa from moss to soil. I know the repotting process can be a little scary, but hopefully this video can give you a little insight into easy repotting! β§ βΈ Sphagnum Moss Vs. Sphagnum Peat Moss www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/sphagnum-moss-vs-sphagnum-peat-moss.htm βΈ What is Sphagnum? www...
What is that blue patch on one leaf
Great and very in formative. Thank you!
π
π
do you reuse the moss?
No plants are low light. They just die more slowly in low light....
Thank you! I have my plant in a northern window...can i use artificial light?
Great video with lots of info! I started growing Fiddles four years ago. It has been a learning experience! I found they arenβt as fragile as some people think they are. I now have eight plants. I found less water is better than flooding them with water! I have a question! I use a 3-1-2 fertilizer, Can I also use worm castings on top of soil in addition to the fertilizer? Thanks for this excellent advice!
Thank you but our house does not have much humidity so other than buying a humidifier what can I do ?
I just brought my fiddle leaf plant which is quite tall inside the house as itβs getting cold It was thriving on my deck and now about 8-10 leaves have fallen off I am getting concerned can you pls help
I thought I was watching one of Eddie halls videos at first π, he uses the same intro music
0:30 Low Light Plants: -No direct sunlight. -Rule of thumb - if you can comfortably read without straining your eyes, that is a low-light area. Examples: Pothos, peace lily, philodendrons 0:57 Medium Light Plants: -Filtered or Indirect Sunlight. Closer to a window but not right next to it. A few hours of natural light through the day. (West or North Facing windows, mostly West). Example: Snake plant, money plant, monstera 1:43 Bright Lights / Bright Lights - Indirect Plants: Bright-indirect - a little further away from window. Will get sunlight for majority of the day (South / East facing window). Putting it too close to the window in the summer and spring months can burn the leaves. Examples: Cactuses, rubber trees, succulents Thanks Roselle!
Is there an update to this video on how the plants did?
I need to clean 𧽠May mine π
Thanks for an excellent video, mine the leaves have dropped down words. Why is this? They use to be standing up horizontally now they have fallen pointing down words like it has no more energy. Please help me someone. And one leaf has a small hole must I ignore it and it will repair itself? Thanks
I love the video wish you showed examples of atleast pics of nthe propagation techniques tho. But best video I've watched so far
Best advice! Thank you!!!
Should I pinch off a leaf with brown spots?
I just brought my first riddle fig plant
This was amazing!!! Very helpful. Also verified I am taking care of my fiddle which once intimidated me. Please continue to make more videos
Would a small crack in the leaf be possible if thereβs also not enough humidity? Sounds kinda obvious I know, but want to make sure itβs not an early sign of another issue. Thanks
A small crack in the leaf could be a couple different things! If itβs super brittle and that caused the crack, itβs a possibility it needs more humidity (:
Awesome video, iv just started getting into house plants and of course i had to buy a FLF . i repotted the plant and make sure to water it once every 8 days. I am concerened because i have 2 leaves that are completely falling , almost even sagging , the color hasnt changed at all they are just droopy. Im not sure if it needs more water or less? I am not too sure what to do either because I bought the plant off the clearance section so it was already in poor condition
I would definitely recommend buying a moisture meter to make sure the plant isnβt getting overwatered! Also, if itβs only a couple leaves that have fallen off, you should be okay. Your FLF may just be adjusting to its new home βΊοΈ
@@lifeofroselle8389 update! The leaves fell off but now new leaves are coming in and the leaves on the plant are green and staying strong !!!
@@chriskevin17 yes yes yes!! so exciting πͺ΄ if you have any other questions feel free to comment or shoot me a message on Instagram π
im a new fiddle leaf fig mom and would like mine to become bushy how do i go about it? yours looks amazing.
Hi Maria! Part of it is choosing the look you like when you buy it and the other part is putting it in front of the window (a few feet back so the leaves donβt get burned) and constantly rotating it so it is even on all sides! Hope this helps βΊοΈ
Hello, A portion of my fiddle leaf fig became leggy, area of no new leaves, because during the summer the out door umbrella blocked it's sun many hrs a day I just didn't notice it. So now what's happening is it's top heavy and bending over a bit because the leggy area is not strong to hold up the new growth above it.. I read not to tie it back because it won't strengthen that way. I have always jiggled it too. The new growth at top is making it bend more and more. What to do? Shall I take off the whole top portion past the leggy part? Or will that prevent new growth at top? Or will I kill it?
Hi there! I apologize for such a delayed response. I donβt think you will kill it if you decide to cut off the top portion! I would try notching it as I showed in the video on the leggy parts and make sure it gets ample sun! You could stake it just till it gets strong enough if you donβt want to cut off the top portion (: I hope this helps!
Iβm a soil scientist and i just did a video on this as well. For northern climates in the winter put your plants nice and close. The window does act as a filter unfortunately!
I go through some of the science here ua-cam.com/video/OFcRdQa7REs/v-deo.html
Do you wipe down the leaves once a week? Or more often?
Once a week is realistic! π
I purchased a FLF from Samβs Club around Christmas and it was tiny and overwatered. It died within a month. Or so I thought. I replanted it, gave it fresh, dry soil and put it in a window sill that received morning light and by the spring, it grew new leaves and now has about a dozen beautiful leaves. Couldnβt believe how resilient it was once I just left it alone, found it a spot it liked and watered it when it seemed dry.
So happy to hear it came back β€οΈ The key is finding a spot IT likes! π

Finally a video I don't have to watch in 1.25 speed :)
I heart your transparent pots! Where are they from?
Thank you! This video is exactly what I was looking for (:
Loved it.. Thank you!
Ok she is only talking not giving example of light
Thanks so much !! Gonna wipe down my fiddle today!!
Great video!
Thankyou
Hi Iβm a relatively new plant mom π±π I was wondering what the negatives would be if you left some of the moss attached to the roots before putting in soil. My guess is that it might retain too much moisture and lead to root rot, but please correct me if Iβm wrong! Thanks so much π
Hi Lexi! I apologize for such a delayed response but I love this question! I was worried that the moss would hold too much moisture as you said but some people do pot it with most of the moss still on the roots! I think it comes to personal preference π
Great informative video. Loved that it was brief and to the point. Embarking on care for my first Fiddle Leaf fig . Hoping it makes it ππ½
My plant is growing great with continued new growth at the top. However the bottom leaf on the stalk turns yellow and falls off. This happens over and over. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Judy! Try repotting your plant into a bigger pot & fertilizing it! It sounds like it just needs some more nutrients πΏ
Have you used Lecca?
I personally have not but Iβve seen it work great for others! πͺ΄
How do you pinch the top of the plant to make it grow?
This helped so much! Thank you!
So happy it helped! π€©
I'm your new subscriber. I really love Monstera. so I am looking up the video for Monstera. I love this video. and gave thumbs up :) Thank you for a great video. And your dog is cute. :)
