So, how different is this model from a "regular" ophicleide? I've seen pictures of Wiss' horn, but I'm curious to know more.
It is a regular Ophicleide. Just a new build one. Jerome made calculations of the keys to get better intonation and the shape is a little wider than at a historic ophicleide.

Its a traditional german Bariton. Here many people play these kind of Instruments.
