KENNY!!! Thanks so much brother. Yeah.. finding that effect was a fun dive into how Copeland got that sound. Fun fact.. for the making of Ghost In The Machine, apparently their manager hit them up after the previous album and told them they are now rich. So they all went out to some local music store and bought like one of everything. Copeland went out and bought a bunch of special effects gear and that Roland Space Echo was one of them. He wound up using it on that track. Glad you dug it man!!! My best to you and the family brother. Looking forward to seeing more from your channel as well...

DEANO!!! DEAN-A-NATOR!!! I thought you’d dig this cover man. Been on my to do list for a while. I gotta admit it was fun playing it!!! And the mix turned out pretty awesome!! I’ll do another “Blotzer” tune soon!!

Thanks for the compliment on my kit. Definitely has been a labor of love building it out for sure! When you say "be more fluid" and "don't try so hard.." anything specific? In order to get that mix just right, I had to concentrate quite a bit to make sure all my hits were consistent. When you see me looking at my tracks on my computer, I'm looking at how each hit looks and adjusting on the fly (if needed) to make sure they are consistent. Hence my level of concentration and what probably looks like a "stiff" performance. But to be honest, I was pretty relaxed about 1/4 of the way through and just settled into the pocket and rode it once I got the groove. Hope that explains why I look a little less relaxed. Appreciate your comments and I"m always looking at ways to improve for sure!! Rock on...

@mikebyrddrums don't play the song, Feel the song, play with your heart and soul, not your hands!!!! That is one of my favorite songs but the live version is much better and more toms! Don't get me wrong you did a great job! I don't know if this helps but this is how I play. If I videotape that you would see me singing every word and my head bobbing around like Stevie Wonder LOL

Thanks for the wonderful compliment @sportsygirl8!! Much appreciated. The whole backstory to this album is quite the soap opera from what I've read. Larrie did in fact play on most of the tracks on Raised On Radio with Steve Smith playing on 3. The other drummer you are referring to is Mike Baird but he played live (as the touring drummer for this album) and Journey did a re-release of this album that had two bonus tracks that featured Mike Baird. For the studio recorded track of "Be Good To Yourself," Larrie played on that one as well. Rock on!!!!

Yeah that is what I read there were too many names thrown around with some post I read on facebook about the album and I was like geez and it was a lot of drama going at the time. When I do my drum covers, I research the album to see where they were recorded, type of console, who engineered it, etc to try and "faithfully" (pun intended.. 😁) recreate the cover as close to the original as I can. When I saw who the touring drummer was I kinda chuckled. Very funny indeed! I love comments like these... take care care and rock on!!!

Thanks so much for the compliment! Funny story for the decorations... My drum tracking room is actually in my son's bedroom. He put those decorations up and said it will add some "fall like colors" to my covers! HAHA. He graciously let me set up my kit and take up 1/3 of his room. He is a guitarist so he gets to play that amazing set of Pearls. Thanks again and have a great upcoming holiday season!
