This is so nostalgic. My older brother and I would play Xbox, PlayStation and GameCube when I was a kid. I have so many good memories from those days. Time flies. Now I’m 23😢

dear god the nostalgia is immense. I always thought my older sibling's friends who would dress like this (or the male equivalents) back in the 2000s were so cool and unreachable, and it's weird to think that I'm as old or older now than they were then haha. guess it happens to us all sometime... also as a child of the internet, a lot of the people I watched on youtube back in the 2010s were millennials, so the influence of this kinda stuff sorta trickled down to gen z'ers like me in a sort of indirect, parasocial way if that makes sense - like you had to be "in the know" when it came to millennial pop culture to get some of the things they talked about. don't know if that made sense haha

There was this magic about early 2000s that we are living through the end of history. Cold War ended only a decade or so back at that point in time, and despite 9/11 and the War on Terror future was looking bright. We enjoyed peace, prosperity and quality of life like never before in history. Combine that with just the right amount of technology cheaply available and it was like we were living in a dream. Then 2008 came and everyone awoke from that dream. It started to go downhill from there but only after 2012/2013 people really started to notice things have indeed changed. 2016 was probably the ultimate cut off date, because since that year it feels like we are collectively driving full speed towards abyss and its only getting worse…
