The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare - Movie Review by Hollywood Impact
Well done gentlemen!! Yeah I kinda want to see the trainwreck too
Since so many people have dogged on this movie, it kinda makes me wanna watch it more just to see how this franchise went from Hero to Zero 😂😂
I liked the movie and I like the review :)
Thank you! Glad you liked the movie!
I agree, McAvoy shines in this movie.
One of the most underappreciated actors we have in Hollywood, for sure.
I am so glad you guys enjoyed it, would love to watch it together sometime!
Watch The Killers Game.
I like the intros that show a dramatic clip from whatever you’re reviewing. Also, I agree that James McAvoy is a super underused actor. He’s got skills.
Thank you! And yes, he absolutely has incredible talent. Split was probably his best showing, but this one was impressive.
Also, saw it 4 times. I loved it and enjoyed it. Glad you guys gave it a good rating too unlike others on the platform. Love your review btw. 🪲 🧃
I keep hearing beetlejuice is a ghost but he’s a demon. I’m so confused. Also, how the hell is he a demon if he died a human? Don’t humans being only ghost? Wouldn’t HE just be a ghost? “Ghost with the most” yes. But ghosts are more transparent and demons are most physical. He’s more physical. Was he such a bad ghost that he was cursed to the demon status or? I know it’s just a movie but there’s gotta be answers. 😂 🤯
Movies like these don’t usually make those things clear, and Beetlejuice is one of the strangest cases. Someone’s gotta do a deep-dive Beetlejuice lore video. 😂😂
@@hollywood_impact I’ve seen several. One of them finally touched on it but not fully.
Star Wars needs better writers. Straight up. Kenobi was by far the most tragic thing Disney has created. They had their chance to create something truly spectacular, and they failed.
Makes us wonder where all the good writers went in this world 😂😂
👍
👍🏻
I think you should show what movie critics and the general are saying when you give your personal reviews as well! Bringing in the opinions from the “higher ups” would be interesting
Very interesting! We’ve tried it once before, so perhaps it’s time to bring it back!
Holy cope
Haha 😂
Definitely a fan of this Casual Friday
Thanks! It was Eric’s idea!
@@hollywood_impact Makes sense 🤣
Marvel had duds before Infinity War/Endgame. They release so much more that there are more duds. As long as we get somewhere with their story, it makes duds worth it
Agreed!
I think it’s interesting that most people make videos on how the MCU is trash now, but you guys took time to look at the other side of the fence. Personally, I really appreciate that.
Thanks! Sometimes we just overreact, but it’s not to say that there haven’t been some clear issues with directions that the MCU was taking
So, in my opinion, the original "Alien" was successful, because Cameron dutifully followed the "haunted house" theme. "Aliens" was successful, because it switched to a "military/horror sci-fi" and did it head long including sending the actors playing the Marines to a several-week long boot camp and having a military advisor on board. Aliens III switched back to purely horror genre and it had a problem by summarily killing off 3 of the main surviving characters. Prometheus had a GREAT promise (and I did like it) completely given up by the Covenant. It's the shifts in the narrative and dispensing with likeable characters that is a weak part of the franchise. Which, obviously, is not quite applicable in Romulus.
We like your in-depth thoughts about the franchise!
main Questions - 1.was it woke in any way? 2. did it fit into the cannon? 3. Did they pay any homage to other movies in the main cannon movies?
1. We don’t believe it tried to send any political messaging, which is definitely a bonus. 2. For the most part, yes. It leans on an understanding of Prometheus. 3. Prometheus and the first film get the most “references”, with Prometheus taking more center stage, we believe.
@@hollywood_impact Excellent! It's finally time to maybe go back to be making entertaining movies without "Da Message" in a style of the 1980s. Generally, I am against "rebooting" successful movies and franchises declining because of bad sequels. Just fix what you screwed up and keep going.
Agreed! Plus, people should start focusing on more original titles over reboots.
@@hollywood_impact I can understand a reboot if the original material was good, but a movie was bad or not faithful to the original material (like Starship Troopers). I would love to see Starship Troopers following the spirit of the Heinlein's book. But to reboot the originally excellent movies just to put new actors in it is just dumb.
I’m excited to see it! Covenant was mid, and Prometheus was interesting, but I’ve heard plenty of good things about this one!
For sure check it out! Is better than most of the other films (besides the first two, of course).
I haven’t seen the movie yet. I wanna give it a chance, but I keep seeing everyone destroy it 😂😂
That’s up to you as a movie-goer! It’s definitely an experience.
fr the first half of the movie felt like it was 10 mins long, then the second half felt like it was never going to end. it was almost like torture :D
Preaching to the choir 😂
I haven’t seen this one yet, but I’ve always thought that his movies are always worth exploring, even if all the twists don’t work out
I enjoyed it! If you appreciate good cinematography this movie is worth a watch!
Definitely worth a look. As an old guy it was cool to see Haley Mills still getting it done!! Hartnett was also great!!
AND MY BOY WESLEY!!! My childhood GOAT! Absolutely was in awe when he came into frame. We wouldn’t have the MCU/Superhero saga’s without Blade. Single-handedly funded the first Tobey Spidey movie with the amount they made from Blade 1 and made people fall in love with Marvel all over again!
Blade is criminally underrated, it just came during an era of hit and miss superhero films!
My fav Wolvy variant had to be the James Howlett one from Apocalypse in the alleyway. He only has one hand and him/Jean Gray are bad to the bone in that series, my personal favorite comic line. And the crucified Wolvy was from the Uncanny X-men comic line where he’s possessed/hallucinating and massacred most mutants.
That’s absolutely terrifying 😂😂😂😂
I honestly would give it around an 8, but I respect it! Also, interesting move with using responses from people!!
It’s not gonna be everyone’s movie! And thank you!
waiting on deadpool review!!!!
Oh it’s coming! Watch for Monday!
Having the deaths early on to establish the intensity was definitely needed, but most of the deaths weren’t emotional enough. Love the hat though, Christian 🤠
Instant like!
Appreciate it!
I can see that you’re trying to improve some stuff on your channel! The extra film footage helps, and I like that you’re shortening the reviews. You left the subscribe thing past the end title thing, but other than that, loved the episode! Can’t wait to see this one! I’m sure you guys will be on the rise soon! 🤞🏻
Hey thanks man. Good to hear some helpful info!
Cool background! I feel like the House of the Dragon does a good job at using the politics, but we still need to see more DRAGONS 🤘🏻
I totally agree!
Mustache rocks
I agree! Inside out 2 was really good.
Definitely surprised me! This could be a long-running franchise honestly
I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m looking forward to it! Good review, man. Looking forward to more!
Thanks! Yeah, definitely check the movie out
WATCH IT.
Sam all day
Another one for Sam!
I really like Christian’s perspective of it as a whole of South Park. I haven’t real been sure of where I stood on it, and I have been convinced by the two to give it a whirl. Even though I haven’t seen any other than clips of South Park, I thought this episode was awesome
Glad to hear it! It’s definitely worth the watch, but it comes with its own warning. It takes some…adjustment lol.
The second Covid special will always be my favorite, but this one did have an interesting take. Another fun one guys, even if the opening question is a little jarring 😂😂😂
The Covid Special is pretty good! Thanks for watching!
Andy Serkis who played Caesar set up Ape School to train the actor how to move like a ape and the facial expressions via motion capture. Owen Teague (Noa) praises Andy Serkis for training him he said he would never be able to do the character justice otherwise and would struggle with the film. He had never used motion capture. Take care 😘🏴 #ApesTogetherStrong ❤️ #CaesarNeverForgotten ❤️ #TeamNoa ❤️
The motion capture team really carries an underrated piece of the franchise, because it makes it that much more real and believable. Good notes! You take care as well!
@@hollywood_impact I watched the original after seeing Rise, Dawn, War and Kingom but i didn’t like the apes in the masks i guess i was to spoilt watching the reboot first. I like my apes to be apes. Take care 😘🏴 #ApesTogetherStrong ❤️ #CaesarNeverForgotten❤️💔😭🤧 ❤️ #TeamNoa (Kingdom) ❤️
hi, I love the reboot trilogy Rise, Dawn and War with Caesar the greatest character ever created and played perfectly by Andy Serkis. Those films are MASTERPIECES to me and still criminally unappreciated and underrated. I love Kingdom too it’s up there with the reboot trilogy. I saw it twice at the cinema. I cried at the beginning with Caesar’s funeral. I love Noa played by Owen Teague. Noa is a character with a lot of potential and i hope we get to see him again. Raka was a true believer when it came to the real Caesar and Proximus was an interesting villain though nobody can beat Koba (Toby Krebbel) for that title. I found Silva the gorilla a stronger villian in Kingdom. I didn’t like Mae. Overall the reboot franchise is strong and should be watched by everyone at least once. Take care 😘🏴 #ApesTogetherStrong ❤️ #CaesarNeverForgotten❤️💔😭🤧 ❤️ #TeamNoa (Kingdom) ❤️
Love to hear in-depth opinions, so thank you for sharing! The Planet of the Apes franchise is such a beloved one now!
I think that the prequels can’t be taken as individual movies. When you watch them consecutively it’s a narrative on the collapse of the republic/democracy and the inner turmoil of Anakin Skywalker. They weren’t created to be individual movies unlike the originals. They were created as a narrative set. When we switch our view to this it makes them much more enjoyable! Having gone and watched them all back they are an incredible set of movies.
Interesting way of looking at it!
No BASEketball?😂😂. Gimmie Sams list for the win
Another vote for Sam!
I was waiting for someone to say Semi-pro, big W for coach Sam!
A vote for Sam! Very nice!
Christian’s got the best picks. ESPECIALLY High School Musical…a classic.
Thanks for the support!
Other than picking Glory Road over Hustle, Eric's choices were pretty perfect. Sure, the basketball in Teen Wolf is laughable, but the coach eats a hard boiled egg WHILE he's coaching and yells at his assistant to get him some salt.
Teen Wolf does have its charm! 😂
Teen Wolf FTW
It’s definitely a classic!
Love and Basketball was a good one in my opinion
Definitely an underrated one!
@@hollywood_impact Loved Air and Glory Road as well.
Yo, not gonna lie, High School musical is kind of a sleeper pick. Very unorthodox, but I totally get it. White Men Can’t Jump is good too though!
Christian best draft
Christian says “Thank you!”
this was a really fun video!!! great work🙏
Hey thanks! Much appreciated!
