USED is normal as that indicates that you are in of the two program types. Stacking programs are A, B and C while program D is the Concurrent program. Program D will always display USED if you have set the zone to operate in programs A, B or C preventing you from using it in the program. It would also read the same (USED) for programs A, B and C if you had set run time in program D to prevent you from using the zone in the other programs. You may have multiple start times set (as there can be up to 8 start times per program) for the program you when you only require one. Or you may need to reset the programming chip and write a new program to the panel due to an error on the chip from a power surge. Decoders will not need to be reprogrammed if you have to replace your two-wire controller. However, if you have the older SLM48DM plug in module for the SL1600 you would have to reprogram the MV decoder from 99 to 97.

When you are in the Start Times position of the panel, simply press the NEXT button to transition from one start time to the next and use the UP or the DOWN buttons to adujst the time to start the supplemental schedule. There can be up to 8 Start Times per program depending on the controller's settings. If you are unable to see more than the 1st or 2nd start time, rotate the dial to the ADV MENU position of the panel and the screen would most commonly display TESTS. Press the UP button until the display reads NUM STRT and then press the NEXT button to enter this function. The doisplay will now read the current STart Time settings, which can range anywhere from 1 through 8. Press the UP or the DOWN button to adjust the number of available Start Times. When finished with your adjustments, return to the Program STart Times position and adjust your supplemental start times as needed.

In an irrigation system, it is not generally possible to run an individual Sprinkler head without capping off the other heads within the zone. Some heads you may be able to adjust the set screw and close off the nozzle or emissions device if so equipped. You’re really only able to activate the zone as a whole.

The controller will need to be replaced. You can ask your local sprinkler supplier for an SLCPSA (panel only), but I think you’ll find it more cost effective to replace the controller.

For panels 3.30 and older, program D is the only program that can run concurrently with programs A, B or C. The A, B and C programs are Stacking programs and will wait for the running program to complete before activating the next. Program D will run during any other program that is in operation. The G5 panels can run any programs concurrently depending on the MAX number of programs allowed to run at one time.

If you have no display unless you have a 9V battery in the back of the panel, the panel will need to be replaced. The part can be ordered from your local Weathermatic distributor using the p/n PLCPSA. You may find it cheaper just to replace the controller. Sorry, but no. The Multimeter function is for testing the electrical connections between the controller through the wiring to the valve(s). The controller itself cannot be set to turn off by KWH used. There may be Smart technology that could do this, but that would be managed most likely at the breaker and not the controller. It may also require additional equipment to monitor and manage the consumption. Power management is outside my scope of work.

You can only use the smart watering features if the system is equipped with one of our SLW1 or SLW5 weather stations. These weather stations report the daily temperatures to the control panel so that it can intern create the runtime schedules for each individual zone. @@davidstraight405 thank you for the reply , but my question is since I forgot where it is supposed to be ,can you tell me where it is supposed to green lit in smart or basic ? Does it matter if my controller was set to smart initially and I messed it up and now is in basic ? Thank you

If you don’t have a WeatherStation the controller should not let you place it into smart mode. If you operate the controller in the basic mode, you’re in charge of the programming. Make sure that your program has a start time that your watering days are set and each zone has the set time needed to satisfy the turf and landscape.

@@davidstraight405 thank you for the reply , one last question if it was set to smart mode initially will there be any problem using in a basic mode ? And I do have some kind of stuff put outside at top of the fence looks like it’s weather sensor so can I still use in a basic mode with that weather sensor ,does that weather sensor work in a basic mode or has to be set in smart mode ? Confirm the date is correct in the CURRENT TIME/DATE position of the panel. If this information is correct, perform a factory reset as there must be an error on the processor of the panel. After you reset the system you will need to write a new program to the panel.

@@davidstraight405 For me, current TIME/DATE was correct. Took the route of "Clear All" and it worked.

Rotate the dial to the ADV MENU of the panel and the display should read FAULTS. Press the NEXT button to see the nature of the fault. It may display MV Short or a Zone 4 Short. A short message usually indicates the the solenoid of the listed valve needs to be replaced.

You may have multiple Faults. Press the NEXT button and the display may read KEEP, press the UP button to change that to CLEAR. Press the NEXT button to clear the error. Repeat as needed. The error will return if the condition is not repaired.

Disconnect the common wire and replace the fuse. If it remains intact you have a short on the system wiring that must be repaired. If the fuse blows immediately after replacement, this indicates a damaged motherboard and the controller will need to be replaced.

Set the Omit Time to NONE SET when you first open the Omit Time that the no water window starts. Just press the Up button until the display reads None Set.

That indicates that you have a bad display to replace. The replacement p/n is PLCPSA, but you may want to compare the price to just replacing the controller. Sometimes the parts can cost more than just replacement.

Yes. But if you forget too the controller will automatically prepare itself to irrigate. The only position it cannot resume normal operations is the OFF position.

Check the OMIT DAYS function. If it is set to OMIT for each day, it will not show you the days you have selected to irrigate.

See the SmartLine Omit Days video. If the Omit Days function is set to ALLOW for all days, but you still cannot see your selected watering days see the video on how to reset your Smartline or Proline controller. You will need to reprogram your settings after the reset.

The SmartLine control panel can be used in the ProLine’s controller cabinet. The SmartLink is a subscribed service using a cellular modem referred to as an Aircard. Weathermatic will be releasing a wifi version of the panel in the upcoming months as soon as the beta testing is completed.
