The Ritual Dance feat. Nduduzo Makhathini and Mbuso Khoza
DID YOU KNOW ❓
Richards bay is named after British Naval commander Sir Frederick Richards who landed troops on the coast in 1879. This was already a fish trading town
Before his arrival, the waterfront belonged to the local communities and was referred to as KWADOBA NGENJA… because the tide would rise up and when it fell, dogs would roam around picking up fish that got stuck in small ponds. The fish would be shared and sold to neighboring towns for economic growth.
The gravitational pull of the MOON on earth causes the high and low tide. This effect has become a play field and phenomenal at Zula, with water rising and falling back all the time.
